Garden Expo 2021 Virtual Design Program The members of the Madison District GC and WGCF have always been very active supporting Garden Expo and most recently with terrific floral designs. With Expo going virtual this year, we cannot host a traditional Flower Show and do not have time to put together a virtual show. Normally the year’s award winners are honored at WGCF’s state convention in May, but as we all know, it has been an unusual year! Gretchen Vest, the 2020 Lydia Shafer Award Winner, accepts the award from Lynne Ehnert, WGCF President and Kitty Larkin who nominated her. A flower show symposium is planned for Oct. 1, 2 & 3 at the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton.  The Fall Floral Fantasy will feature nationally known speakers.  Botanic Arts opens the event Thursday evening (Artistic crafts, Photography, & Botanic Arts Design) . Due to the worldwide COVID-19 outbreaks, our country and the world are changing rapidly and our community activities are changing more than most of us have seen in our lifetimes. On March 17, 2020, the National Garden Clubs Executive Committee voted to cancel the 2020 Perfect Vision Annual NGC Convention. The Wisconsin Garden Club Federation (WGCF) was prepared to host an exciting Tri-Refresher for NGC members, from around the world, on March 11, 2020 at Boerner Botanical Gardens. Due to the world-wide Covid-19 outbreaks, our country and world are changing on an hour to hour basis. After several weeks of difficult, but necessary decisions for National Garden Clubs, Inc. I am reporting that the NGC Executive Committee voted yesterday, March 17, 2020 to cancel the 2020 Perfect Vision Annual Convention, May 12 – 15, 2020, hosted by the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation.
