The ‘Hoos have the opportunity to take down the Gators in back to back seasons
The Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball team has played a couple of games to wash the bad taste out of their mouths from Baha Mar. Since their blowout losses to both Tennessee and St. John’s, Ron Sanchez’s squad has taken care of a pair of low-major opponents in Manhattan and Holy Cross.
This week, the ‘Hoos travel down to Gainesville, looking for what would likely be a Quad 1 win against Florida. UVA grabbed an early season 73-70 victory over the Gators last year, thanks to Blake ..read more

Less than 24 hours after the disappointing 37-17 loss to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, the Virginia Cavaliers face yet another quarterback dilemma: not having one.
Sophomore Anthony Colandrea plans to enter the transfer portal after being benched in favor of Tony Muskett, who made his first start of the season against the Hokies last night.
Colandrea leaves Charlottesville with two years of eligibility remaining.

Evaluating what’s next for the Virginia football program after another disheartening loss to the Hokies.
The Virginia Cavaliers lost the Commonwealth Cup to the Virginia Tech Hokies, 37-17 in Blacksburg on Saturday evening. In a fashion that has become all too typical for the Wahoo program over the past two decades, the UVA football season ended its season with a resoundingly uninspiring defeat.
Per usual, we have five takeaways for the football program ahead of what will be a tumultuous 12 months for the Virginia athletic department.

The ’Hoos got a reality check in San Juan.
The Virginia Cavaliers women’s basketball team travelled to San Juan over Thanksgiving weekend to participate in the ‘Discover Puerto Rico Shootout.’ The trip did not go as planned, however, as the ’Hoos dropped two of their three games to fall to 6-3 on the season.
UVA began its weekend with a nail-biting 66-61 win over Green Bay on Thursday morning before suffering consecutive losses on Friday and Saturday to Washington State and Wyoming, respectively. The ’Hoos dug themselves into large defici ..read more

How have the ‘Hoos done in the fall beyond football?
Most of Saturday’s focus will be on the Commonwealth Cup in football, but the Virginia Cavaliers will also be hosting two critical matches of their own. With bowl eligibility and a 26-year drought on the line, is it almost too late to start Tony Muskett?
In August, head coach Tony Elliott entrusted sophomore quarterback Anthony Colandrea with the next three years of the Virginia Cavaliers football program. What we saw from the Florida native across eight games in 2023 was promising: explosive, off-script plays with an uncommon aptitude to use his legs when plays broke down. That’s something that Virginia hasn’t seen from a first year under center since maybe Jameel Sewell in 2006.

The ‘Hoos and Hokies collide in Blacksburg both looking to become bowl eligible.
Rivalry Saturday is upon us once again. And, while the Virginia Cavaliers roll into Saturday after back-to-back blowout losses, a huge opportunity awaits in Blacksburg. The ‘Hoos and the Virginia Tech Hokies both sit at 5-6 on the season with only one able to walk away with bowl eligibility Saturday night.
Tony Elliott’s first experience in the rivalry a season ago went about as bad as it could with a 55-17 blowout loss at home. This week, he had a more fiery t ..read more
