 This war memorial is located at the Returned and Services League (RSL) Club along Hartill-Law Avenue, in the southern suburb of Bardwell Park. The obelisk stands in the middle of a memorial garden, dedicated in 1968 to the memory of departed comrades of World War 1, World War 2, Korea, Malaya and Vietnam. Today is ANZAC Day, which commemorates the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the World War 1 in 1915. The Federation Pavilion is located along the Grand Drive in Centennial Park and commemorates the inauguration of the Federation of Australia at this site on 1 January 1901. This rotunda was designed by Alexander Tzannes and erected in 1988, the Bicentennial year of European Settlement. It was constructed around the 'Commonwealth Stone' and features a glass domed ceiling with a colourful design. An inscription around the pavilion is from a 1901 poem 'Australia' by Bernard O'Dowd that reads: "Mammon or Millennial Eden". The former Sailor's Home is located along George Street at The Rocks. The original block was designed by Weaver & Kemp and built in 1864 in the Victorian Italianate architectural style, as cheap, clean accommodation for sailors. The streetfront block seen here was designed by Spain & Cosh and built in 1926 in the Inter-War Free Classical architectural style. A continuous parapet in Classical Revival style links the blocks.
