In the last few days, Microsoft has announced a breaking change which will impact many developers using Microsoft Graph change notifications to receive information about presence changes and online meetings.
This is a big change, will impact many people, affects the v1.0 branch, and is rolling out very soon.
What is the change, and why is it a “breaking change”?
The change impacts two workloads: user presence, and online meetings.
For both of these, the change impacts change notifications set up using “basic notification” (not rich notification).
These change notifications will no longer incl ..read more

The validation guidelines help developers understand why their app might be rejected, and what they can do about it. AI-generated content is a new area of concern for Microsoft that will now be scrutinised.
There are 4 main areas for developers to be aware of:
You need to tell users that you are using AI-generated content. This needs to happen both before the user adds the app (so, probably in the description), and during usage of the app. Although Copilot Cha ..read more

I wanted to put together a guide for people starting out building their first plugin for Copilot.
I didn’t want people to feel like they HAD to be seasoned developers to be able to build something.
I wanted to show how straightforward it was.
I also wanted to create something useful, not just another Hello World demo. I believe that this plugin genuinely has value and I’m using it daily.
In this guide, I start with an existing sample for a Microsoft Teams messaging extension, and then modify it in order to create a plugin for Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Everything I did is in this video, which is j ..read more
