Mary Carson & Andrew | Alligator Point Beach Engagement Photographer

I love when couples select locations that are meaningful to them for their engagement photos. Mary Carson and Andrew chose Alligator Point, just 40 miles southwest of their home in Tallahassee. Mary Carson has fond memories of growing up visiting her family’s Alligator Point beach house and even fonder memories of the day 5 months prior when Andrew got down on one knee and popped the question. I met the two of them and their beloved black lab, Maggie, on a beautiful sunny afternoon in October. They wandered the beach, smiling at each other and throwing the ball for Maggie. I love that these im ..read more

Erin + Justin. A Spring Asheville Wedding

Erin and Justin were married on a sunny, spring afternoon in Asheville, North Carolina – one of their favorite places to visit as a couple. When I think back on photographing their wedding day, I remember the ever present joy on Erin’s face, she and Justin’s go-with-the-flow attitude, the vibrant hues in the stunning bouquets and centerpieces (made by Blue Ridge Blooms), and of course, Reggie, their sweet black lab who made it for a few post ceremony photos! Here’s what I saw on Erin and Justin’s wedding day ..read more

My how I love photographing my friends! Stephanie was my church community group leader three years ago. After moving to Alabama for law school, she reconnected with an old high school boyfriend and spoiler alert – they really hit it off (again). I was thrilled when I saw the news of their engagement and even more thrilled when I received an email from Stephanie inquiring about wedding photography! Steph and Joe were married on a spring afternoon in Santa Rosa Beach at the brand new Point Washington Preserve. Surrounded by their family and friends, they pledged their love to one another and dan ..read more

Amelia and Josh were married at Maclay Gardens State Park in Tallahassee on a clear morning in late February. It was one of those perfect spring days when it’s warm in the light and cool in the shade. The gardens were in full bloom, showing off for all of the out of town guests. Following the ceremony in front of the reflection pool, guests transitioned to Table 23 for bottomless mimosas, freshly shucked oysters, and smooth jazz on the patio. More brunch receptions please ..read more

Interior Design Photography

Over the years, I’ve worked with a number of talented interior designers in Tallahassee to photograph their work. The process of photographing interiors is much different than photographing people. During weddings, engagement, or family sessions, I am constantly on the move – chasing active children, capturing dancing couples, and ever changing emotions. But with interiors, I am forced to slow down. Using a tripod and manually focusing my camera, I shoot with intention – carefully composing each image. Making sure wall art is straight, pillows are fluffed, and hand towels are folded. I’ve grow ..read more

I honestly don’t think I need to write much of an intro about Caroline and Chris. It’s pretty obvious from the images that these two are just plain fun! We met up in downtown Thomasville for their engagement session, and although it was the first time meeting in person, I felt like I had known them for years. Caroline smiled her way through the city streets and Chris seemed happy to be with her. I left that evening so excited to photograph their big day, which is now just under a month away! Here’s what I saw on a fall afternoon in Thomasville, GA: The post Caroline & Chris | Thomasville ..read more

2019 Moments

“A good snapshot keeps a moment from running away.” -Eudora Welty People often ask me if I get nervous on wedding days – “That’s got to be so much pressure!”- they say. To be honest, the thing I get most nervous about is pinning the boutonnières – a task that photographers often get charged with out of necessity. To date, I have pierced my  fingers, bent pins beyond use, and once even broke a flower off completely (luckily, there was an extra. But y’all, don’t say I didn’t warn you…) Sure, it’s a lot of pressure, but until the first person mentioned it, the thought had never crossed my mind. Y ..read more

Connor and Claire found my photography through Abby – a childhood friend of Claire’s who has graced the pages of this blog multiple times – and boy am I glad that they did! One of the best parts of this job is getting to know new people, hearing their stories, and ultimately feeling like I’ve gained one or two more friends in this world. Connor and Claire were a joy to photograph. Kind to one another, and kind to me! They smiled often and made each other laugh easily. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in the spring! Here’s what I saw on a sunny morning at Goodwood Museum & Gardens ..read more
