Probably the book of the summer you’ll want to pick up here. A story about Roy Halladay, from the beginning of his career to the bitter end of it in Miami for the Phillies, now an incredibly fast, seven years ago. I was one of the many fans who really liked Roy Halladay when he signed with the Phillies. That era attracted a lot of big names that wanted to be on this team. They knew that greatness was all around them, and they wanted to be a part of it by signing with the Phillies. Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, and other players were a group of players big named pitchers were attract ..read more

This post is being written when there is really no baseball news going on, during the Pandemic that swept over the World starting about mid-March 2020. There’s always something you can write about baseball, and today, I was reading something on game length time, which prompted me to want to run for my Phillies Media Guide to check out the answer. Some things I’ve always loved about baseball are 1) you never know what you’ll see at the ballpark, a triple play, a cycle, perfect game, and the like 2) baseball isn’t controlled by time, so you can be there for under 2-hours, or over 4-hours, you ju ..read more

The 2020 MLB baseball season being postponed has been the rise to the ‘baseball simulation’ events. Sure, these simulations have been around, we’ve seen them for season predictions on websites like: Fangraphs, Baseball-Reference, and Baseball-Almanac and more. What has the MLB world of fans taking note? Watch the video below: Lately we’ve had a lot of simulations going on at the same time, MLB.com announced the MLB Dream Bracket that made it a little more interesting than just a ‘plain’ regular MLB roster season of the 2020 year. No, this one went far beyond this, 30 MLB teams comprised of th ..read more

When I first heard about the MLB The Show Player’s League, I was a bit skeptical, I am not a huge fan of video games, I’ll play one once in a while but I don’t live to play them like some people do. So the first night, a few weeks ago, I decided I would try to watch a professional player sitting there and play a video game, I wasn’t the player, I was a mere participant. I was going along with the ride on the chance of escaping some of the boredom that has come with the Covid-19 shutdown. What did I see? Well, a different side to many major leaguers for sure. Some really colorful characters eme ..read more

I didn’t think I would like this quarantine distraction of watching Major League players get together and play video baseball games. I’ve been tuning quite a lot though to many different games. Here’s tonight’s live stream games of Rhys Hoskins. Hoskins wasn’t the favorite going into this video game challenge, he’ll face some tough competition tonight, namely Blake Snell ( @Snellzilla4 of twitter) who had a big giveaway on his channel last night even though he wasn’t playing. Granted you had to be a paying member of his channel on Twitch.tv to get any prizes, but I did upload a video of this t ..read more

Just two days ago, a report was issued by the NTSB, the National Safety and Transportation Board in reference to the plane crash that took the life of Roy Halladay back on November 7, 2017. Embed from Getty Images The progress of investigating the accident is taking it’s course and now 2 1/2 years later, there are more facts coming out about the whole situation. Those facts aren’t pretty, in fact, they are very revealing about the deep issues that Roy Halladay went through after he retired from baseball in 2013. By FRANK CORSOE It was one of those basic quarantine questions you get asked every time you are experiencing a time out from life due to a worldwide crisis. Hardly ever. So when my wife asked me this question, there was a measure of curiosity, but also the aha moment that she gets me and is reading my mind. Now that’s concerning and potentially dangerous. “If you could go back and watch one player in the history of the Phils, who would it be?” She has earned the right to ask the question ever since I wanted to add this to our nuptials, “if the Phils are ever in a world series, I will be there ..read more

MLBNetwork’s show “Intentional Talk” has been still in production during the long pause now that baseball has taken due to the Covid-19 crisis. The show isn’t easy to find though, you won’t find it on the regular MLBNetwork lineup. Intentional Talk was MLBNetwork’s first ‘talk show’ originating in 2011 it currently has over 575 episodes. But lately, they’ve had to find another way to get their show out to their audience. Enter social media, the way the show is currently being distributed as MLBNetwork has scaled down many of the programs it use to have on. Dr. Mark Mikkelsen is on the front l ..read more

Frank’s 2020 Phillies Lineup

In the overall scheme of things, creating a potential Phillies lineup for the 2020 season might land at No. 6 on my list of priorities. Coronavirus Covid-19 is the big one. This was an actual game-used lineup dugout poster, it was sold back in 2014 for $760 by the Phillies Caring for my family. Prayers to keep all healthcare workers safe and concern for my fellow man. Eating. And not dying — occupy the first five delicate slots. So if there is, indeed, a season, let’s think back to 1981 when the Major League Baseball Players Association decided to strike for 10 weeks in the middle of the seas ..read more
