Looking for your next Vegan Burger fix? The new plant-based range at Byron Burgers has got you covered!   If there was one trend that defined casual dining in the 2010s has to be the ‘Gourmet Burger’ craze. Started by the likes Almost Famous (who had the cheek to not even bother catering for vegans and veggies for years) and made popular by brands such as The Handmade Burger Co, Solita and Gourmet Burger, it wasn’t long before it felt like every street in town had a burger joint that claimed to be the best in town. But times are changing. When your local boozer offers a range of deep-fri ..read more

Turtle Bay has upped their vegan menu for 2020. We checked it out to see what it’s all about. Here’s what we found… What’s Turtle Bay about and why did you go? Turtle Bay is a Caribbean-Themed restaurant aiming to bring the party vibes to Manchester. For 2020, they’ve upgraded the menu with crowd-pleasing vegan options that should appeal to both vegans and v-curious alike. We went down earlier in the month to find out if it’s a #veganuary hit or miss. Inside, Turtle Bay is exactly what you would expect from a Caribbean restaurant – bright colours, graffiti art and a beach hut style bar. Clearl ..read more

Greene King launch new Vegan Pizza

Greene King has launched a Vegan Pizza for #Veganuary 2020. We checked it out this weekend to see if it’s a hit… It only seems a few short years ago that Vegan options away from Manchester City Center were a bit thin on the ground. I’ve had some frankly bizarre dishes served to me over the years. Once the chef came out and told me he had a ‘veggie thing’ in the freezer but didn’t quite know what was in it – mmm doesn’t that get the tastebuds salivating! But in 2020 its all change. It feels every restaurant and pub chain is falling over themselves to launch a vegan menu and this is a very good ..read more

Looking to try something different this Veganuary? The new Bill’s Menu is now out and better than ever! We covered Bill’s Veganuary menu last year (quick verdict: very impressed) so when the menu for this year was launched, we were keen to go back. We were not disappointed For starters, I went with the Wild Mushroom Soup. I’ve had a couple of the soups at Bill’s and so far they’ve all been excellent. This was no exception. Served with garlic croutons and chives, this rich, thick soup is a real winter warmer. Also on the starters menu is the Sweet Potato and Ginger Soup. If you’d like to lea ..read more

After months of Twitter speculation and rumour floating about, the news was confirmed a few days ago. Greggs are launching a Vegan Steak Bake – and it’s in stores as of today! After the success of the Vegan Sausage Roll last year, it’s no surprise that Greggs have launched a Vegan version of one of their best sellers. Rumour has it that they want to launch a vegan version of all their best sellers. But is it any good? I grabbed one earlier today to see if it’s worth the hype… The Vegan Steak Bake is apparently very similar to meat version ( I wouldn’t be able to tell you as I’ve never had one ..read more
