I bought four bottles of beer. Paid with contactless, not really concentrating, left, and only later realised, “hang on a minute… how did that cost me nearly 20zł instead of the expected 15-16zł?”
(Unfortunately I can’t consult my paragon fiskalny, as I usually don’t take it.)
Went back a while later to look at the price labels and sure enough, the beers are supposed to be 3.90zł each on average.
Anyone shed any light?

I recently made a subscription purchase for $20 using my debit card issued by a Polish bank. I provided my card number, expiry date, and CVV, but there was neither OTP verification nor bank app verification for the transaction. The money was deducted from my account, but I'm confused and concerned by the lack of authentication. Isn't this a security risk? If I lose my card, someone else could use it to make unauthorized purchases, right?!
The purchase was for a recurring subscription plan. Is it because the transaction amount was low? If so, what is the limit for a low-value transaction to ha ..read more

Hi all, I’m looking to buy some polish pottery but it’s so expensive here in the US. Does anyone know any companies or online sites where I could directly buy from Poland for a cheaper price per piece?

Hi Everyone,
Looking for help/ or if anyone else has encountered this. I bought a car in one EU country and had it registered there and was paying insurance in that country. I have moved with that car to another EU country where I of course had to register it since I plan to stay a long time here. I had to get insurance in our new EU country but now a bank in the old country is claiming I don't have insurance and are charging us a fee every two weeks in addition to hiking up my APR.
As anyone else ran into this? And what did you do/ suggested option to proceed. Thanks greatly.

Hello fellow Krakow residents and visitors!
I'm planning to send a bouquet of flowers to a girl in Krakow and am in search of reliable and reasonably priced flower delivery services. I have a special request for the delivery service: they need to ask for the delivery address from a contact I'll attach. This is because I'm sending the flowers to someone I haven't spoken to in a long time, and I want to ensure the delivery is handled discreetly.
Here are a few details to consider:
Delivery Area: Specifically, I'm looking for services that deliver within Krakow.
Quality: The flowers should be f ..read more

I'm a foreigner but my wife is polish. I want to start investing for our new born but I want to avoid doing this under my name and make him paying for taxes the moment I transfer him whatever assets I'll accumulate in 20 years.
Does anybody knows a bank/broker that accepts opening an investment account for a new born in Poland?

Hello, I recently moved into an apartment. I'm in my 3rd day here and my neighbor has already come twice knocking at our door around 10:50 pm complaining about noise even though my roommate and I haven't invited anyone over, done any events, or whatever, we've only been having normal conversations. Her bedroom is the same wall as my roommate and I believe the wall might be a bit thin.
She keeps on talking about the noise law (6-22), I know we are not being loud. We are now forced to pretty much whisper because we don't wanna cause an issue
is there anything we can do about this?

Hi Everyone,
I'm currently living in Warsaw on a type D VISA which is valid until the end of the year (and I intend on extending this). Finding a job with a company registered in Poland has been very challenging as I do not currently have a work permit, and it seems that many of these companies do not even feel like considering going through the process of applying for a work permit on my behalf.
So another option that I have considered is working for a UK-based company fully-remotely from Poland (I have some kind of conversation going with an employer already.) I've seen conflicting informat ..read more
