It’s that time of year that we begin our reports summarizing the season for the Blue Jays’ minor league affiliates. And so we begin our first post-season report in two years with the Florida Complex League Blue Jays.

We conclude our in-depth look at the DSL Blue Jays by looking at the hitters.
Catchers
Jonathan Peguero, who doesn’t even turn 18 until late July next year, was the club’s top catcher, playing in 31 games and hitting respectably for such a youngster. The Dominican catcher hit .266/.384/.372 with four doubles and two home runs in 112 plate appearances, walking in a stellar 14.3% of plate appearances and striking out in 17.0%. We continue our more in-depth look at the DSL Blue Jays by looking at relief pitchers. At the Rookie ball level, the distinctions between starting pitchers and relief pitchers are frequently fluid so we’re going to include anyone who made more than 50% of his appearances as a reliever (or didn’t have as many innings as someone who was a starter).

The Arizona Fall League, an annual league for prospects and minor league players looking to prove themselves going forward, has had their rosters released and the Blue Jays have seven young players on the roster for the Mesa Solar Sox for 2021, led by MLB’s top Blue Jays propsect, Gabriel Moreno.
The roster, which includes players from the Blue Jays, Athletics, Marlins, Orioles, and Cubs, will feature four pitchers and three position players.

The minor league have released their end-of-season All-Star teams and the Dunedin Blue Jays had a great showing with five All-Stars on the team for the Low-A Southeast league while Spencer Horwitz was named the High-A West’s top prospect.
In the Low-A Southeast, shortstop Orelvis Martinez led the way, after a stellar .279/.369/.572 slash line with 19 home runs in 171 games for the Blue Jays.
