I started a campaign and we are 4 sessions in. My players have been extremely lucky on all of their rolls and I have been really unlucky in all my roles as the enemies. They recently did a mission where they disguised themselves as bandit members to infiltrate a camp. They had a previous run in with the boss of the camp so he would have recognized them. Be rolled a 1, 3, 2, 4, and 1 on all of his perception rolls. So he was insanely oblivious. They have just absolutely dominated every single fight, getting nat 20s left and right. When they finally faced off against the boss, I put two berserk ..read more

I'll be in the car or chilling at home and just start daydreaming about my characters in a 90s-style animated cartoon with their parties complete with catchy intro song and title. Think 90s X-Men. Anyone else do this? If so, what kind of animation or style is it? submitted by /u/Hello_IM_FBI [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Currently playing a wild magic sorcerer and last session I rolled on my DM’s custom table and I immediately died. I was “resurrected” by the wild magic as a reborn so now I do t have to eat or sleep. So my question is what are some times that WM either was the worst thing or best thing that could happen. submitted by /u/Just_Ducky89 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So basically we were doing small sessions with our DM before starting the campaign later today. For a little context we have been on hiatus for a few months and today is supposed to be our first session back with new characters. I cooked up a fun and interesting character that I was very excited to play. However we did small session 0s with our DM I did mine with 1 other player because his character worked for mine. We were being followed by a hooded figure and after getting a surprise jump on her. 3 Assassins (CR 8) popped out of no where and killed me but ended up letting my counterpart liv ..read more

What are your world building red flags?

For me it’s “life is cheap” in a world’s description. It always makes me cringe and think that the person wants to make a setting so grim dark it will make warhammer fans blush, but they don’t understand what makes settings like game of thrones, Witcher, warhammer, and other grim dark settings work. submitted by /u/Redhood101101 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

After months and months of looking for players, writing and working on the campaign and buying a lot of stuff for it (even tho I didn't NEED them but I wanted them) we finally had the first session yesterday. It took so long to schedule but now the campaign has officially started and we had so much fun!!! We were supposed to play for three hours and we ended up playing for like 5? everyone said they loved it and I was so happy because I was extremely stressed out before. So yeah just wanted to share how much I love dnd and how happy I am!!!! submitted by /u/yaelnad [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
