Everyone is always asking which school produces the best talent at any given position, and the best way to generally determine that is to look at which schools puts the most of that position into the professional ranks. Michigan football was desperate for an identity change after 2020, and while there was a culture change in Ann Arbor with it becoming more of a player-led team than a coach-led one, the identity became clear starting in 2021: SMASH! Coined by new head coach Sherrone Moore, who was then starting his first year as the Wolverines’ offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator ..read more

It’s been a tough month for fans of the University of Michigan. First, former defensive end Craig Roh, who was a bright spot on some of the worst Wolverines teams of all time, had unexpectedly passed away after a quiet battle with cancer. Then, over the weekend, news broke that basketball point guard Darius Morris — who was also a bright spot in a tough time who helped lead the maize and blue back to prominence — also unexpectedly passed away. On Sunday, more bad news came as reports surfaced that Obi Ezeh, the former Wolverines linebacker, has also passed away at the age of 36. We are sadden ..read more

Michigan football had looked like it was in the pole position to acquire the services of 2025 Cleveland (Ohio) Heights running back Marquise Davis and the Wolverines were all in on him. But Davis had other plans and ultimately chose to make a surprise commit to Kentucky. Thus, onward to other prospects who can tote the rock for the maize and blue. The good news is one of the top running backs in the 2025 recruiting cycle, Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star tailback Jordon Davison, the seventh-best RB in the country, revealed his top four schools and Michigan football made the cut, along wi ..read more

Michigan football has landed a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Avery Gach. He chose the Wolverines over Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin. Gach, who plays at Wylie E. Groves High School in Franklin, Michigan, holds a .9138 grade on the 247Composite which makes him the 236th highest-graded player nationally and the second-highest-graded in Michigan. Gach is the fifth commit in the 2025 class and the third-highest-graded on the 247Sports Composite. Recruiting hasn’t gone very well for the maize and blue as of late. The Wolverines lost running back Marquise Davis to Kentucky a ..read more

Amorion Walker transfers back to Michigan football

Rumspringa is apparently over for Amorion Walker. The Michigan football wide receiver-turned-cornerback was supposed to be the next big thing in Ann Arbor, but a mix between the learning curve and injuries precluded Walker from being an impact player in 2023. He surprised by transferring to Ole Miss following the national championship run, but apparently the grass isn’t always greener. Following spring ball in Oxford, the junior-to-be was set to be on the move again. Walker re-entered the transfer portal last week and surprisingly, his original choice of school was his likely destination. That ..read more

Michigan football linebacker heading to SEC via transfer portal

It was something of a surprise when freshman Michigan football linebacker Jeremiah Beasley — who was an early enrollee and had just completed his first semester with the team — had opted to enter the transfer portal. The first-year linebacker had garnered rave reviews from coaches and teammates during bowl prep and spring ball and looked to be a part of the Wolverines’ future, but he opted for a change of scenery — quite quickly. The former Belleville (Mich.) four-star has just as quickly chosen his transfer destination. Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Beasley has committed to transfer to Missouri an ..read more

Michigan football adds a wide receiver via transfer portal

Michigan football has desperately needed to add wide receiver talent via the transfer portal. Though it has two freshmen coming in the summer in I’Marion Stewart and Channing Goodwin, with the departures of Cornelius Johnson and Roman Wilson to the NFL and Darrius Clemons, Cristian Dixon, and Karmello English to the transfer portal, the Wolverines only have a handful of scholarship wide receivers on the roster. The maize and blue look to have found one solution. Coming via the transfer portal after a career-best 33 catches for 503 yards and four touchdowns, a 6-foot, 190-pound receiver in form ..read more

While he may not have had barnburner stats, things worked out well last time Michigan football landed a receiver via the transfer portal from a lower-level college football school. It was 2021 and the Wolverines managed to attain the services of former Jackson State wideout Daylen Baldwin, winning the recruiting battle over several big-name schools — including Ohio State. Now the maize and blue are looking to get another wide receiver from the transfer portal from a school that’s not in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Hailing from Youngstown State in the FCS, C.J. Charleston entered the transfe ..read more

Michigan football recruiting continues to be something of a conundrum. The Wolverines had been trending for 2025 Cleveland (Ohio) Heights four-star running back Marquise Davis and looked not only to be in the pole position, but ready to receive an imminent commitment. A couple of predictions came in on 247Sports indicating he was the maize and blue’s to lose and some recent visits had made it appear that there was no way that Michigan would lose this recruitment. Well, about that. Unforeseen to everyone, Davis pulled the trigger for big blue, not the maize and blue. With no predictions indicat ..read more

Yet another Michigan football backup linebacker enters transfer portal

It appears to be something of an epidemic in Ann Arbor — if you’re not likely in the two-deep and play the linebacker position, you may look to seek playing time elsewhere. Michigan football has had success in recruiting linebackers from the transfer portal in each of the last two years, with Ernest Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham coming aboard. But this cycle, the Wolverines have now lost three linebackers to the transfer portal. It started with true freshman Jeremiah Beasley, an early enrollee, opting to enter the portal late last week. On Monday, former four-star Semaj Bridgeman joined him. No ..read more
