Hi! Welcome back to my blog for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week we are featuring Shaded Spruce, a relative new-comer to the SU colour range. Hopefully it survives the upcoming colour refresh, as it's a green that I like. I thought that this colour combo from Brian King was a little unusual, it's certainly not colours that I would think to put together. It screamed 'floral' to me, so that's what I did. It's been a while since I've played with Hand-Penned Petals, so it was a good choice for my card. I layered the stamped and die cut image over a large Stylish Shapes ci ..read more

Hi! Hooray for Friday's and a new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a bright and happy colour combo, selected by Kerry. Isn't it great? I decided to give a stamp set and die combo that I found at an op shop a go! I thought that the balloon stamps and the colour combo were a fabulous mix. The stamps and dies are from Gemini by Crafter's Companion and are called Balloon Sentiments - Party. I started by stamping and die cutting the party balloons in the three colours, and then chopped them up to mix and match. I die cut an additional shape in Whisper White and used that to l ..read more

Colour Creations: Sahara Sand

Hi! Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are on the downhill run now with the colours! This week it's Sahara Sand's turn to shine. It's a tricky colour to describe - sort of a greenish, brownish gray, maybe? Either way, it's a great Neutral. Brian King used it in a colour combo that makes me think of some Christmas papers that we had a couple of years ago. Lots of plaid and deer! I didn't use it to make a Christmas card - I'm not quite in that headspace yet. I had to think very hard about how I could let this colour shine - it's usually a supporting or ..read more

Hi! Welcome back to the new CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. We enjoy CASEing from the Stampin' Up! Catalogues, and we hope that you do, too. This week we are asking you to CASE any Embossing Folder project from either of the two current catalogues. There's a lot to choose from! I recently purchased the Legendary Ride bundle, so I went for that section of the mini catalogue first. Embossing our foil cardstock is a favourite technique of mine, so this card caught my eye straight away. I also loved the layout of the card, and the addition of the feminine flowers to the ..read more

Hi! Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Rich Razzleberry's turn - a former In Colour that became a core colour during a past colour refresh. Given that we are about to have another refresh, it's fun speculating on which colours might get the chop, and which retired In Colours might make a comeback. We all have our favourites! Brian King has a lovely, bright colour combo to go with Rich Razzleberry. I wasn't a fan of Flirty Flamingo to start with, but it's grown on me over the years. Knowing my luck, that means it's a colour that may retire soo ..read more

JAI 642: Just Add A Sketch

Hi! Thanks for joining me for the new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have a sketch for you, designed for us by Kim. I really loved the strip down the left side, and the way that the matt on the square panel disappears under the strip. It's such a fun idea. I decided to pull out my Taco Fiesta stamp set to play with. The paper I used is long retired, from the Festive Birthday DSP pack. It suits the Taco Fiesta stamp set perfectly. I stamped the guac and bowl with Memento ink, and then coloured them with my Stampin' Blends. I thought that the bowl looked a little plain, so ..read more

Hi! Thanks for joining me for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Real Red's turn to shine. I chose this gorgeous colour combo from Brian King for my card tonight. As I put on my shoes this morning, I realised why. My red sandals go nicely with my Coastal Cabana coloured toenails! LOL! I CASEd this layout from a card I saw on Mary Fish's blog, made by Jennifer Roque of Stamp Camp With Jen. The three strips of DSP are the same, but she used flowers where I used the owls. Speaking of owls, let's not mention that I forgot that they retired yesterday! Oops! I coloure ..read more

Hi! Welcome back for the new Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week it's Pumpkin Pie week. I can't remember a time as an SU demo without Pumpkin Pie - so it's been around a long time!  Brian King teamed it up with Starry Sky and Daffodil Delight. This combo, along with my obsession with the On The Ocean bundle, made me think of a fiery sunset over the sea. I started by stamping Rays Of Light onto Whisper White cardstock with Pumpkin Pie ink and then inking over the top with Daffodil Delight ink. I left a little white halo around the sun, and then stamped some of the birds from ..read more

Hi! Welcome to the CASEing The Catty Sunday Challenge Blog Hop. Isn't it a great way to finish off the weekend? This week we are back to CASEing from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. There's only a couple of weeks left to get your freebies from the catalogue, so don't delay! My eye was caught by this card on page 9 of the catalogue (ignore the graphic that says page 8!), I liked the fussy cut flowers over the rainy DSP and the black twine bow. I once again decided to use Favoured Flowers DSP on my card, and adjusted my design accordingly. The grouping of flowers that I fussy cut ..read more

Hi! Thanks for stopping by! Today I have for you the new Just Add Ink Challenge, which was suggested by Fiona. We are asking you to Just Add A Surprise. I recently purchased the On The Ocean bundle, and straight away had an awesome idea on how to use it for this challenge. I was thinking go the closing scenes of one of my childhood favourite movies, The Goonies. I delved into my pop culture stamps for the card, using Sassy Club's Treasure Hunters for the character, and Ink Road Stamps's I Smell Ice Cream for the sentiment. The cliff that Chunk is standing in front of was watercol ..read more
