Dragonfly Garden (154411) was the first stamp set I got to play with from the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue released last month.  I love the tranquil meadow scene it's imagery calls to mind. For the first project (above), I've embossed those pretty florals on a pool party card base background. Then I added a mix of soft pinks, enjoying some mindful colouring time with those stripy dragonfly wings. For the second project (below), I was inspired by the tones of the Dandy Garden designer series paper to draw together something a little less whimsical, something closer to nature. The Crafty Carrot Co turned 4 this month and to celebrate our team shared a weekend of FREE live stamping video tutorials over on our public Facebook group.  For my party project, I chose to feature the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set (152539). Being a sentiment only set, I had to get creative with my other decorative elements. Join me in the replay to see this fun bubble background sponging technique come together. I also explore the idea of turning our beautiful designer series papers into fussy cut embellishments.  Throughout February, the team and I will be sharing 4 new LIVE ..read more

Three years ago I created a 'Let's Get Blogging Challenge' for some crafty friends who wanted to learn how to build a blog to share their creations online.  At the end of the challenge, I invited participants to join me in a blog hop.  Blog hops are a great way of getting exposure for your blog, but also wonderful for building relationships with other bloggers - to meet and interact and grow, not just as a blogger, but as a crafter too!  This group is certainly proof of that! Today I am breaking my blogging hiatus to join the team as they celebrate 3 years of blogging and ..read more

Hello 2020! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. If you've been following my work for a while then you may have noticed I've been quiet over here. I have been crafting, but I'm finding it's so much easier to share over on social media than to write blog posts up these days. My Fancy Friday friends agree and we've decided to shake things up this year! This is our last official 'blog hop'. Moving forward we'll be taking a more modern approach and bringing inspiration to you through Instagram and Facebook @stampinfancyfriday. Fittingly, the theme for our Fancy Friday challenge today i ..read more

We are sharing ideas for male themed designs today on the Fancy Friday blog hop. The Sailing Home suite from the new catalogue was an obvious choice for me to feature.  I've been enjoying all things "Sailing Home" this past month as part of the Crafty Carrot Collective (CCCo) August series of online classes.  As a designer with the CCCo, I'd normally not be able to publically share my tutorial design with you. However, as we opened this series up FREE for all to join, I have a rare opportunity to show you my exclusive project from this month! To make this card, and see many more 'Sailing H ..read more

Use up that DSP, Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop #23

I'm always on the look out for ways to put designer series papers (dsp) to good use. The right pattern, in the right layout, can create the perfect base for deceptively quick to put together card. This layout here for instance, would work with any of those bigger, bolder patterns in your stash.  It really showcases the beautiful imagery in the papers, while a few simple embellishments and a single embossed sentiment give the maker a well-deserved sense of creative accomplishment! I'm sharing this project today for the Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop. It's our challenge this month to inspire you ..read more
