Although it’s been right around two weeks since the beginning of the season for most MLB teams, more time has passed for the Los Angeles Dodgers due to the South Korea trip to open up the year. The Dodgers already have 16 games on the books and are already on their second go-around with division foe San Diego. Overall, the infamous Dodger offense has lived up to its name for the most part, despite a select few bottom-of-the-order regulars struggling mightily. On Thursday, Shohei Ohtani’s translator, Ippei Mizuhara, was charged in connection with his theft of millions of dollars from Ohtani. And it’s much worse that was originally thought. While in Korea for the international series against the San Diego Padres, Ohtani and the whole Los Angeles Dodgers team found out that Ippei had stolen around $4 million from Ohtani. Ippei was then fired from his duties as Ohtani’s translator. MLB, the FBI, and other federal agencies looked into the matter and on Thursday, charges against Mizuhara were announced. In a 37 page criminal complaint, it was revealed th ..read more

Although spirits weren’t particularly high when the Los Angeles Dodgers left Wrigley Field in Chicago on Sunday evening, the team could be in for a major energy boost when 29-year-old righty Walker Buehler returns to the mound sometime soon. Buehler completed his second rehab outing for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, throwing nearly five innings of shutout ball. In his 4-2/3 innings of work, he faced 16 Albuquerque batters on 65 pitches and allowed just two hits with eight strikeouts and no walks. His heater sat around 94 MPH most of the night and touched as high as 96 MPH. Buehler pitche ..read more

Dodgers Embark on First Road Trip of Season

The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting their first road trip of this season, aside from that little sojourn to Korea. Does that actually count as a road trip? Regardless, this one is a little six game spin through the north side of Chicago and the Twin Cities. First up is a three game set against the Cubs, where the friendly confines of Wrigley Field may not be so friendly, temperature wise. All three games are mid afternoon games, local time, and no day while they’re there is it supposed to be above 50°. Sunday looks like there is rain forecast for most of the day. The Dodgers will say hi to ol ..read more

Heading into the start of the 2024 regular season, the offense of the Los Angeles Dodgers received most of the attention across the baseball blogosphere by boasting one of the most prolific one-two-three punches the game has seen in recent history. However, a pair of righty pitchers stole the show this week, leading the Dodgers to two early victories in their home opening series at Dodgers Stadium. Bobby Miller captured most of the spotlight on Friday night in a dazzling exhibition against a not-too-shabby Cardinals lineup on paper. It’s probably not right to say that it was the best outing of ..read more

The 2024 regular season has already been unique for the Los Angeles Dodgers in ways they’ve never seen in the past — an opening series in South Korea, a leadoff batter hitting the cover off the baseball and a potential gambling scandal with scores of unanswered questions. The Dodgers open a three-game exhibition Freeway series against the Angels on Sunday night with an identical lineup that notched them an Opening Day win in Seoul. It will be interesting to see if any of the early trends we saw in South Korea carry over to the play on home soil. Obviously, it’s a long season, and it could take ..read more

Well that Spring Training went by quickly, didn’t it? Granted, the Los Angeles Dodgers started early than all teams other than the San Diego Padres, their Korean series opponents, but the Arizona part of Spring Training flew by. It might’ve been the most anticipated Spring Training ever for the Dodgers. It’s not often that a team makes two monster signings and an impressive trade all in one off-season. Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow all headline a revamped Dodger team. The Dodgers will start the season by playing two games against the Padres in Korea that count, then head ..read more

Dodgers Roster: What Lies Ahead for Blake Treinen?
ThinkBluePC | L.A. Dodgers News, Blues, Rumors & Opinions

Each year during spring training there seems to be an obligatory conversation surrounding whether veteran righty Blake Treinen could make a potential contribution to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 35-year-old reliever hasn’t pitched a full season since 2021 when he logged 72.1 innings of work with 85 punchouts and an impressive 0.982 WHIP. However, 2024 could be the year when he at least starts the season relatively healthy with a full head of steam. The Dodgers picked up Treinen’s $1 million club option during the offseason thinking there was a decent shot he could contribute to the team in som ..read more

Although the 2024 MLB regular season begins on March 28 for most teams, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres will get a head start on this year’s campaign under the world microscope with a series in Seoul on March 20 and 21. This will be an interesting matchup, as the Dodgers went full-in to land Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and others, while the Padres dealt superstar Juan Soto to the Yankees, seemingly to avoid a payroll crunch. The early Vegas predictions are in full swing already, with the Dodgers once again running away as the early season favorite. Most avid baseball fans kn ..read more
