Yet another reinstalled version of the blog reflecting a change in web hosting. To say the transition was easy would be a lie. Well these amusing little guys were purchased quite a long time ago now. And they were painted a long time ago too but I have only recently realised I never did take photos or blog about them. You may well know of my love of 15mm but I still love painting up 28mm too! Especially those from the superb Oathsworn. Recently this has been mostly in the form of their Burrows and Badgers range which is quite excellent. Anyone that’s visited here before will probably know of my fondness of the Demonworld range of 15mm fantasy miniatures available from Ral Partha Europe. Easily amongst the best available in this scale. Way back I acquired a rather large haul Woodland Warriors from Splintered Light Miniatures in the US. Many have been painted, but the vast majority remain unfinished. So as part of The Plug the Gap Project I decided to finish off some logical chunks that would at least allow for some ‘battle’ level units to be fielded. First up, the Mice. A little off tangent here but maybe of interest to some visitors to this blog. I bought these drawer cabinets from The Works some time back – when they were £12 a pop – now £15 as you can see from this link. There was no intention of using them as drawers as such but they have proved very good as hanging displays which was my intent. What to do with the removed drawers? When I say “Halloween Special” I do think the Zombicide Abominalpha is pretty monstrous and suitably ‘horror’. Likewise the two pistol wielding miniatures look very ‘Van Helsing-like’ to justify the otherwise loose use of the Halloween phrase in the post title. It was a number of years ago that I first came across Oathsworn Miniatures and have acquired (if not painted) quite a pile of lead from them. Never disappointed with anything I’ve bought from Michael or Jo who also happen to be excellent. The dwarves and sensible shoes miniatures are fantastic but it is the Burrows and Badgers anthropomorphic miniatures that really attract me to Oathsworn.
