With Collum and McLean for the upcoming derby at Celtic Park, we get incompetence and Ibrox facing bias combined

So, Crawford Allan and the SFA have decided to go for a curve ball when it comes to their refereeing appointments for the final derby of the season. And the more I think about these referee and VAR appointments, the more I understand the thought process behind them. As we’re all aware, the Ibrox club demanded, quite vociferously, that they no longer wanted Willie Collum to referee games involving them. This was coming off the back of his decision as VAR not to award a penalty to the Ibrox side last December, when Alistair Johnston appeared to handle the ball in a tussle with Abdallah Sima insi ..read more

The pattern of assistance was in full swing over the weekend. It's one rule for Celtic, and another completely different set of rules for Ibrox

Yesterday, there was an air of desperation hanging over Ibrox. Desperation not to drop points. And desperation to make it to Celtic Park next week with their title hopes still alive. They are. Just about. Despite a 4-1 victory over 10 man Kilmarnock, desperation seemed to turn to disbelief amongst their fans. So much so, that they started walking out of Ibrox with 10 minutes left on the clock. An air of resignation seems to have settled over Ibrox. This is a familiar picture to their fans. They seem to accept it’s going to be a tall order to win this title. Even the media seem resigned to it b ..read more

It isn't Keevins' duty to talk up the Scottish game?? So what is? To continually assault and belittle it?

So, I’m back after a week’s holidays, and if I’m honest, the welcome at my CSC yesterday, and the game I watched couldn’t have been better. It seems Brendan Rodgers is being true to his word. This is the time of the season when we come alive. Because if that performance yesterday couldn’t be construed as coming alive, I don’t know what can. And it couldn’t have come at a better time considering what we’re facing into next weekend. But, as with all things I enjoy, it only takes a killjoy like Hugh Keevins to put a dampener on it. Now, I suppose I read Keevins, and others, as a necessary evil ..read more

The Most Expensive Celtic Transfers

Celtic is one of the highest-spending clubs in the Scottish Premier League. The 54-time champions are never afraid to splurge the cash on talents they believe would be ideal fits for their team. While not all these signings were success stories, many justified their hefty price tags and even commanded huge transfer fees when leaving a couple of years later. Here’s our list of the seven most expensive signings ever made by Celtic. 1. Odsonne Edouard (£9m) Odsonne Edouard is Celtic’s most expensive player of all time. The exciting Frenchman first arrived on loan from PSG in 2017 before his move ..read more

Why does the SMSM continue to defend the "referee allegiances" debate, while labelling Celtic fans as conspiracy theorists to justify that defence?

Before I actually delve into the subject matter in the headline of my article, I need to clarify something. Or more to the point, find an answer to the below question. What is the exact definition of a “conspiracy theorist”? According to the Oxford dictionary, a conspiracy theorist is a person who believes that some secret but influential organisation is responsible for a particular event or phenomenon. So firstly, there’s your answer to that question, from the most respected dictionary in the English language. It’s pretty clear. The key words in that definition are “secret but influential org ..read more

No Scottish referees at Euro 2024 tells it's own story, while Beaton referees yet another match involving Celtic

The SFA must be asking themselves some serious questions today. At least you’d think they will be after Scottish referees were once again given the snub for Euro 2024. The officials for the competition were named this afternoon, and it has now been 8 years since a Scottish official refereed a game at major international tournament. Willie Collum had that honour back at Euro 2016. 8 years. Think on that. It is a sad indictment of the standard of refereeing in this country. And the SFA should hang their heads in shame when officials from Slovenia and Slovakia are being selected ahead of Scottis ..read more

I don’t know about you, but I had to sit in a dark room yesterday, and have a few stiff drinks to calm my nerves after that semi-final performance. That was nerve shredding. I had to watch the highlights again this morning because it all seemed a blur to me. Kind of like when you get into a fight, and you can never clearly remember afterwards what happened. Adrenalin pumps through you in situations like that, and clarity of thought becomes secondary. I think the same applied to yesterday. I was at my CSC for the game, and all throughout the penalty shoot out, I kept saying to my mate, “Joe Har ..read more

NO, Celtic do NOT face "nightmare" scenario after "remarkable" Ibrox development

Celtic fans beware, if ever there was an article written that is a total contradiction of reality, this latest “headline spinner” from Football Insider has to be it. Published yesterday, the article has the most deceptive headline you could possibly read. This really is the ultimate in clickbait garbage. How anybody clicked publish on this article with a straight face is beyond me. As usual, it’s pinned as an exclusive, with resident “football expert” Alan Hutton named as the author. The irony of all of this, is that the article, which says Celtic are facing a “nightmare scenario” was publishe ..read more

Ibrox noise rants on about "under pressure, piffle talking" Clement, "reverse coronation chicken Tavpen" and that "moral victory" against Celtic

It’s been a fairly slow news day today, with the only story of relevance the fact that the game between Dundee and the Ibrox side will go ahead this evening. Thankfully, there should be no 6 year old kids from Wales left in floods of tears this Wednesday. Being a bit bored, I decided to dip my toe in the dark side. I took a look over the fence to see what was going on over at Ibrox Noise. I was surprised to see that the blog was living up to it’s name. It was very noisy today, with it’s main story focusing on Philippe Clement’s claim that his Ibrox charges have been unlucky in recent games. Th ..read more

The Ibrox club don't have what it takes to "lay a glove" on Celtic, despite what Simon Jordan says

Two days on from the Dingwall debacle, and it’s mission “Rally the Ibrox troops” in the media. It’s still in their hands, all they have to do is come to Celtic Park and beat us on our own patch. The rest is a foregone conclusion. That’s what winning the title boils down to, according to loudmouth Simon Jordan in yesterday’s Record. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but did they not lose to Ross County on Sunday? That did happen, didn’t it? So, it’s not inconceivable that they could also drop points at Dens Park tomorrow night, is it? Yet the media and Simon Jordan are pinning all of their title ho ..read more
