Perception is a strange thing.
Many people will use certain circumstances to perceive something totally different to what’s actually going on.
For example, Keith Jackson believes Frank Trimboli was seen at Celtic Park on Saturday because he may be involved in negotiating a move for Ange Postecoglou to Spurs.
Well, that’s the seed he’s trying to plant in your mind anyway.
The perception he’s trying to make you have.
I have a totally different perception.
The first thing to point out here, is that nobody knows what’s going on behind the scenes when it comes to Ange Postecoglou’s future.
That’s ..read more

At the end of Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final, I watched as Ange Postecoglu walked around the Celtic end and soaked up the adulation of the Celtic fans.
Something struck me about it all.
Watching the unadulterated joy on his face actually made me emotional.
In a good way, of course.
I felt the warm glow of happiness running through my veins, but above all else, I felt ecstatically happy for Ange Postecoglu.
I have supported Celtic for almost 40 years now, and I’ve been through many highs and many lows throughout those years.
I often tell my wife that Celtic was my first love, and when she so ..read more

There’s never much time goes by before somebody from the English game starts ranting on about how easy it is to manage Celtic.
Or how their Nan could score for fun in Scotland.
Or how they could stroll through the game up here and not break a sweat.
Blah, blah, blaaaaah.
Glen Johnson is at it today in the Record.
Apparently, he has inside knowledge about Ange Postecoglu that nobody else has.
Add to that, of course, that the Record are only dying for Ange to leave the Scottish game, and you have another bullshit story encouraging him to move south.
This is the opening line to the article:

There is this consistent belief that Celtic are destroying the game in Scotland through their relentless success.
That it devalues the game to have one team winning everything, all the time.
Are Celtic victims of their own success?
Or are they victims of the mediocrity which surrounds them?
I would suggest the latter.
Celtic should not be pilloried for their success, in fact, Celtic should be looked upon as the template for success.
Unfortunately, we happen to inhabit a league in a country which lacks leadership, through both the SFA and the SPFL.
Add to that, that we have never been welcome i ..read more

Ian Maxwell recently stated the the game in Scotland was in the best shape it had been in years.
Attendances were up.
In fact, the Scottish game, per capita, is one of the best supported in Europe.
Yes, that’s probably inflated by both Glasgow side’s attendances, but regardless, the game is on the up here.
It’s probably in the best shape it’s been in for quite some time.
Yet, all of this week, all we’ve been listening to in the media, is people talking down our game.
I wrote an article on Hugh Keevins’ opinion of our main cup competition last Sunday.
Which backfired spectacularly on him, as ..read more

It was always going to be a big decision for Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou when it came to selecting his starting midfield for the League Cup Final against Rangers.
Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate were certain starters, so the decision had to be made if to start either Matt O’Riley or Aaron Mooy, who missed Celtic’s last league game against Aberdeen due to an injury.
The Hoops manager decided to start the experienced Mooy, and it has to be said that he got his decision correct, as even though the Australian only played 65 minutes of the game – before he was replaced by O’Riley – he had a big im ..read more

It has been an up and down season for Celtic attacker Sead Haksabanovic since he joined the Hoops in the summer from Rubin Kazan. The 23-year-old has had to deal with injuries, and other players performing well in his area of the squad, but it should also be remembered that he was the Scottish Premiership Player of the Month in November.
Perhaps his Celtic career so far was summed up in injury time of the recent League Cup Final, where he showed superb skill to get clean through on goal, but steered his shot just wide of the goal.
Thankfully the miss didn’t matter as the Hoops won the trophy ..read more

Celtic fans will be eager to hear anything that Ange Postecoglou has to say at the moment, as the Hoops boss is doing a wonderful job at Celtic Park, winning three trophies in two seasons and the Bhoys are well-placed to win a second successive title under the Australian.
After this weekend’s League Cup Final win over Rangers, the Hoops boss spoke out about his future at the club.
Here is what the Celtic manager said about his future at the club, as quoted by The Herald:
I am still here even though people have been getting me out the door. I am hoping that over the course of time as long as ..read more

Celtic’s social media accounts have been uploading some great content in the aftermath of this weekend’s League Cup Final win over Rangers, and a recent video uploaded to the club’s YouTube channel is no exception, and should be watched by every Celtic fan.
Celtic TV usually upload unique angle celebrations of goals that the team score in every game, but for the League Cup Final win they have gone one better, and uploaded the unique angle video of the post-match celebrations after the final whistle was blown at Hampden Park.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor has won every cup final he has played in as a Celtic player, as both vice-captain under Scott Brown and currently as Hoops captain.
He has won 10 cup finals out of 10, most recently the 2022/23 League Cup Final when he helped inspire the Hoops to a 2-1 win over Rangers. All the attention will go towards Kyogo and rightfully so, as he scored both of Celtic’s goals in the game.
But it has to be said that the Hoops skipper had a big influence on the game, as he helped the Bhoys control the midfield. The good thing about McGregor is that he is able to play well with ..read more
