After getting an estimate for Netapp cluster replacement that was way higher than we expected I've been tasked to look for Netapp alternatives. We may still go with new Netapp clusters but I need to do some due diligence.
Our setup is really simple: a 2-node cluster in the production data center with about 400TB and a 2-node cluster in another data center for DR and long term backup with around 600TB. We do CIFS only.....just file shares, although most of them are for a pretty demanding file-based accounting solution, not just users opening files. No VM backend or whatever. Just file shares ..read more

I'd like to know if there is an option to exclude specific callhome events from either being generated at all, or preventing them to trigger an autosupport message

I am currently a 6th sem engineering student
I have an Interview for NetApp in a weeks time. My current Situation is that if I get my internship(10 months) from NetApp I will be blocked for other college placement activities. So what is the conversion rate of NetApp.
The current offer is from NetApp banglore.
Should I clear my interview or wait for other companies in college placement ??

I have an intern offer from netapp at their RTP campus. I have another offer at another company in NYC. I know this is a little silly on my behalf but am wondering if netapp drug test or not. I know for a fact my other offer does not but would rather be at netapp and I don’t want to mess anything up. Thanks.

Consolidating two unique AFF A300 + DS224 instances. One instance has been decommissioned in which I would like to take it's disk shelf and add it to the other AFF A300 + DS224 instance where I end up with a single AFF A300 with two DS224 disk shelves.
I've referenced the various documentation and setup posters but I can't determine how to appropriately SAS sable the additional shelf. Furthermore, can this be done non-disruptively where I add the shelf to the existing instance and expand the existing aggregates?

Hi team! I have added my new domain to my cluster and set priority but my cluster mgmt interface still resolves to the old domain. I am new to this world and know I'm missing something stupid. What might that be?

Hello people. I have a netapp ds4243. Just wondering what speeds I can get from this? Per drive max speed and all 24 drives running at once. I'm not quite sure how to do the math on this.

I've been chasing an issue in my ESXi 7.03g environment where all 4 of my hosts when they demand high throughput to my AFF220 often will start throwing path down errors, datastores no longer visible, and other issues pointing to loss of communication or timeouts. These errors occur for a few seconds at most and things come back. This is using iSCSI only with a SAN A and B configuration using EX4600 switches 10gb from the hosts to the AFF220. HBAs are Qlogic QL41xx 10/25gb HBA's. The data network is on a completely different network.
While digging into the Vmware logs I found these in the sysl ..read more

i need to read all files on our filer by an application, via mapped drive preferably, and avoid updating the access time. Is that possible, or is there another way to do this?

Hey,
I have upcoming Netapp interview for software engineer (2+ YOE). Can anyone suggest what kind of questions will be asked? There are 4 interviews 3 technical and one manager. I am wondering do they ask system design as well or just coding questions only. Recruiter hasn't told me anything about it. Any help is appreciated.
Location: CA
Thanks!
