Hello long lost blog followers! It’s been a while since we last updated this fun, travel filled blog! Mainly because, we had a baby in 2018 and haven’t really traveled since. I don’t want to blame it on the baby, but lets get real, we are going to blame it on the baby. And then there was 2019, which was a year of awfulness for us, so we are just going to skip over that year and move right on to 2020! While 2020 was a chaotic year for many, it was the year we started the build of Camp Caravan Waco! When we were traveling in our lovely Airstream, we spent many nights at various RV parks, state p ..read more

Our year in review // 2018
Tin Can Plan

We had no idea what 2018 would hold for us as we rang in the New Year, in true Brandon and Liz fashion, on the couch watching a movie. Our plans were to fix up an old Airstream (Argosy), hit the road for a few months in the summer and then head back out in the fall. Little did we know, our plans would change greatly. Brandon spent the first few months restoring our new home on wheels, getting her ready for our maiden voyage, which would be a quick trip to Big Bend National Park. We’d heard so many great things about Big Bend so we knew we had to check it off our National Park list and consider ..read more

Whole Lotta Colorado
Tin Can Plan

Oh looky, we are back in Colorado! Our original plan to hit Glacier National Park for a few weeks fell through when we realized Logan Pass was still snow covered and our favorite hikes weren’t passable due to snow still on the ground. We figured, we would just head back to Colorado and hang around there for a bit. Our first stop once leaving Wyoming was a state park on a lake outside of Fort Collins, CO. We’d chosen this spot because it was close to a major city which would equal good connectivity for the work week. We spent our lunch breaks exercising on the paved path that looped around the ..read more

Hiking the Incline Trail – Manitou Springs, CO
Tin Can Plan

We have a friend who loves to hike recommend The Incline Trail in Manitou Springs. We love recommendations because we usually just turn to the internet to determine which hikes we are going to set out on so having a trusted opinion is always great. They had told us it was very challenging but very worth it. I love a challenge so of course I added this hike to our list! As we are pulling into Manitou Springs we immediately see this trail carved out in the side of a mountain, and we both figure there is no way it can be The Incline Trail. It was steep and long! Well, as we got closer, we quickly ..read more

Windy Wyoming

After we learned that most of our favorite destination, Glacier National Park, was still covered in snow with more on the way, we headed south. We did a big ol’ circle, going back through Jackson, Wyoming, headed for Pinedale. We met a fellow traveler who said it was  a cool little place to visit. It was still a bit chilly and rainy when we got there, plus we couldn’t get a good internet signal. Without internet, we had to move on. That’s where things got really fun! You see, in Wyoming, there’s a lot of wind. And boy, did we encounter some! We’re talking about 40+ mph winds in some places ..read more

Exploring Yellowstone National Park
Tin Can Plan

When you think of national parks in America, I bet the first one that pops in your mind is Yellowstone. That’s likely the case because Yellowstone is considered to be not only the first US national park established, but was also the first national park in the world. That kind of fame, coupled with the sheer size and the vast amount of activities and sights to see makes the park JAM PACKED. People are everywhere. Cars are everywhere. Buses are everywhere! Yellowstone really is like a city. It has car accidents, animal attacks, and it even has an area that some call the best place to commit the ..read more

Hiking in Grand Teton National Park

The last place we stopped before leaving Colorado was right outside of Frisco. We needed a place to spend a couple of nights and we found the perfect little campground. It was right on the lake and not far from the cutest little mountain town. We didn’t realize we had visited before, until we walked past their laundromat.  There were some well designed hike and bike trails right near our campground which was a nice way to spend the evenings. We decided it was time to move on so we hitched up and headed north. We stopped for the night in Rawlins, WY at a RV park with more Texas plates than any ..read more

Memorial Day Weekend in Crested Butte, CO
Tin Can Plan

We are back on the road! We left last week with plans of staying in a Walmart parking lot in Amarillo, but as we neared our destination, we realized that it was still too hot for us to sleep without AC. I’d heard great things about Palo Duro Canyon so we pulled up to the park gate hoping there were spots, and lucky for us, there were. We spent the night with the AC on high and then packed up early the next morning for Colorado. We knew we weren’t going to drive all the way through to Crested Butte, so we stopped for the night in Salida, CO. It’s a cute little town with some great boondocking ..read more
