RFS have some exciting updates coming soon, and as I’ve been busy working on the content for one of our campaigns, I’ve been learning a lot more about the world of cyber (not hard to learn ‘more’ when you’re starting at zero though!). I’ve discovered that there are some incredible initiatives out there to help members of the Armed Forces, their families, and veterans, develop skills in digital, programming, and cyber, with the possibility of starting new careers in these growing industries.
It got me thinking about what led me to the role I’m in now, the path that’s taken me here, how I ..read more

At the moment, it feels like everywhere I turn, everyone I speak to is feeling the effects of the lack of light and warmth in the UK. Burnouts and breakdowns abound in January it seems, like toddlers over-stimulated after a big birthday party, we collectively crash after all the hype of Christmas and New Year is over, struggling to transition from holiday mode back into the regular routine of daily work and life.
We experience all this pressure for the holidays to be perfect, whether that’s perfect for our friends and family or just perfect for US, to get all the rest and replenishment we need ..read more

It’s that time of year again. Some of us might be thinking about making some New Year’s resolutions, and some of us might have looked at the last couple of years of world-wide chaos and gone, nope! We’ll enter 2023 real quietly, real respectfully, not say anything silly about 2023 being ‘Our Year’ and hope that the Universe is kind to us!
And I’m somewhere in-between.
It’s occurred to me recently that we can achieve far less in an hour, a day, a week or even a year than we usually think we can.
But when we look back over three or five years, often the amount we have achieved, the changes and m ..read more

Christmas is a time for family. It’s supposed to be fun, a time when we can relax, spoil ourselves and each other a little, eat things we wouldn’t normally eat, and sleep in late!
There can also be a lot of pressure around the holidays to have fun, to be on our best behaviour with family we don’t see very often, to get the “right” gifts, cook the perfect food, and to make sure everyone has a really good time.
But with pressure comes stress.
And stress hurts our bodies, our minds, and our relationships.
Sadly, divorce rates soar after Christmas. We’re often incredibly busy, travelling aro ..read more

This Christmas we’re thinking a lot about how we can be more sustainable in the choices we make. There can be circumstances where sustainable options are the more expensive choices to make and engaging in choosing sustainability over ease or affordability becomes a privilege.
However, we’ve identified a few areas where being more sustainable can be the much cheaper option, to help you to make choices over the festive period that are good for the planet and for your wallet. That’s why we’re sharing a few sustainable swap-outs you can make throughout the festive period.

A few years back I remember watching a behind the scenes interview clip of a celebrity showing the viewers around their home.
In the clip, while showing off her immaculate bedroom complete with huge four-poster bed, she mentioned to the interviewer that she always got 11 hours of sleep a night.
She said it in such an off-hand way, laughing and talking about how it might seem like a lot to most people, but for her she knew that was how much sleep she needed to function, so she made sure she was in bed by 9pm every evening, so she could wake up refreshed at 8am.
I was so floored by ..read more
