A Kenyan court has sentenced to death a former Kenyan policeman for the killing of a prominent human rights lawyer and two other people more than six years ago. Kenya does not carry out death sentences, even though the death verdict is allowed by law. Two other ex-policemen and a civilian were sentenced to between 15 and 39 years in prison for the murder of lawyer Willie Kimani, his client and a taxi driver in June 2016.
