This week our youngest turns 20! Well and truly ‘empty nesters’, we’re making the most of our summer now the kids are back at work, with some summer camping for two. Happy Valentine’s day to us! We love February camping because it is no longer peak season. This means cheaper rates and less people! Plus, it is still swimming weather for those southern oceans and rivers. Pick up a copy of our Thungarra Trails map, and choose one of 6 walks that you can do at your leisure. There are walks for all levels of fitness. Walk along the Irwin River, starting at the Fairy Garden (installed by the local pottery club) and admire some other local art along the way. These are the remnants of our Art Trail...

The Summit 1770, QLD now has a dump point for guests. This pet friendly campground has powered sites and onsite accommodation as well. Free firewood is available, there are toilets, showers, accessible facilities, camp kitchen, picnic tables, mobile coverage, boat ramp and these views! Big Rigs are also welcome. You need to pre-book and arrive before dark. 1770 and Agnes Water is located between Bundaberg and Gladstone – in an area surrounded by National Parks, with access to secluded beaches, Bustard Bay, the islands and Great Barrier Reef.
