Only the brave escape the fortress of Hierarchical Authority.
Going ‘out there’ without your protection feels scary. In the beginning, it probably will be scary.
Your people will welcome your new-found openness. All the while checking your authenticity.
But, if you want people to open up, be creative, and give their whole selves to the task…..you simply have to lead the way.
Transformational leadership is capable of transforming performance. So don’t be shy!

The Team contribute on the same level as the leader and all ideas are valued.
Have you ever been in a brainstorming meeting where after a couple of hours excited, passionate creativity the Leader summarises, and their preferred idea is chosen?
Being a democratic Leader means having to choose an idea that you “know” is not as good as your own.
But success is created from good ideas passionately implemented.
The Leader has to be careful not to use this on a decision that could go dreadfully wrong and bust the business!
