After having won gold at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, Canada moves up to first place in the 2023 IIHF Men’s World Ranking overtaking second-ranked Finland. Great Britain are ranked #20 after winning Gold at the Divisioon 1A Tournament in Nottingham earlier in the month.

The 2023 IIHF Annual Congress has voted to assign the remaining tournaments of the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship program for the upcoming season, and voted to choose the host of the 2027 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship.
This vote was, by far, the most awaited decision of the day. The IIHF delegates had to choose between 2 excellent bids : one from Germany and the other from Kazakhstan, but only one winner in the end. After the very convincing presentations from both countries, all the delegates casted their secret ballots, and the winner is … GERMANY !

Great Britain beat Italy 5-3 at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham to win promotion to the 2024 World Championship in Czechia.
In a pulsating game, GB took the lead four times as Brett Perlini and Cade Neilson scored twice, while Mike Hammond was also on target as Pete Russell’s side made an immediate return to the top flight.
It was an extra special night for Jonathan Phillips won his 116th cap on his final appearance for Great Britain to bring down the curtain on an outstanding 21-year career for the national side.

It’s going to be a fantastic Friday in Division IA. All six teams in Nottingham have something at stake going into their final games, with promotion and relegation still to be decided.
Three teams – Poland, Italy and Great Britain – are battling for the top two spots and a place in the elite group in 2024. Great Britain setup a Gold Medal and Promotion showdown against Italy on Friday, after a 7-0 victory over Romania on Wednesday evening.
The victory see’s GB remain unbeaten at the World Championship Division I Group A at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.

Ben Bowns secured his second shutout of the tournament as Great Britain beat Lithuania 3-0 to record a third successive victory at the World Championship Division I Group A at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham
Bowns got his third successive start between the pipes and turned away 28 shots as GB moved onto eight points to go top of the group after three matches.
GB went ahead after only 67 seconds when Evan Mosey won the puck on the boards and fed Cade Neilson who cut inside from the right, came away from a challenge and fired past Mantas Armalis (1:07).
