The IEFS World championships qualification groups get underway today as national teams play for the chance to compete at the main event in Romania. Two British Isles teams will be competing in the Western Europe qualification groups; Wales and the Republic of Ireland. In the last IESF event, which took place in Bali, Wales made it through to the play-in where they fell to Bulgaria and failed to qualify for the main event. In March 2023, Arctic Raptors made a series of changes which included bring on Bulgarian AWPer, Slaven “AwaykeN” Lyubenov, to replace their previous star, William “wfn” Maskrey. The move came after their relegation from ESEA Advanced to ESEA Main. After a decade spent at the Kettering Conference Centre, EPIC.LAN were suddenly in dire need to find a location for their upcoming July LAN event at short notice after the venue announced that it was set to close at the end of May 2023.
