I had already decided to pass on watching The Whale before reading Lindy West’s take on it ((The Whale is not a masterpiece – it’s a joyless, harmful fantasy of fat squalor, 10 March). Heavy snow hit large parts of England's north, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland on Thursday. Three amber warnings for blizzard conditions have been issued by the Met Office and will remain in place until Friday morning.
