Greene King has announced that it has raised £1 million for its Proud To Pitch In programme, with the goal being hit as the final whistle blew on the Euros 2024 last week.
Over the last two years, Greene King has donated 10p from pints, and 50p from selected can packs, of Greene King IPA to the scheme aimed at supporting grass roots sports. Throughout the Euros, the pub retailer and brewer, increased its offer to cover all Greene King beers.

Outlet closures have slowed in the past 4 weeks, with the rate falling below -1% at a year to date level, according to a report by industry analysts Oxford Partnership.
The sector lost another 86 outlets this month, with the hardest hit in Suburban and Urban areas. Operators are still controlling their outgoings by managing their opening hours and we see outlets trading 197k less hours, in the latest week, than last year driven by less outlets and less hours with the average outlet open for 2 hours less a week.

The Craft Guild of Chefs, has launched a culinary podcast ‘Chefs on the Pass’.
A stellar cast of chefs have been signed up to star in the podcast series, with episode one featuring Craft Guild of Chefs Chairman and Regional Executive Chef Levy UK Mark Reynolds, and episode two featuring the BBC’s Great British Menu Finalist, Ruth Hansom.

Hospitality workers from across the industry have reported an unprecedented rise in mental health struggles based on a recent survey conducted by UK charity Hospitality Action.
The survey, which took place in June this year, revealed a significant increase in the proportion of hospitality workers reporting mental health issues in their careers, rising from just over half (56%) in 2018, 64% in 2020, to more than three-quarters (76%) in 2024.
