Introducing...the Hillarys Interior Squad!

“I thought I’d wear a pink sequinned playsuit and twirl a gymnastics ribbon – is that OK?” When Hillarys asked for my outfit and prop choice for the Interior Squad launch photoshoot and didn’t bat an eyelid at my response, I knew we were onto a winner. But then I already knew that joining Hillarys’ six-strong Interior Squad to create content with this wonderful company on a longer-term basis was going to be a career highlight for me. It was an absolute pleasure to get to know my fellow Squad members on the immersion day and photoshoot held at Hillarys HQ a few weeks ago. These wonderful huma ..read more

Summer tablescaping on the pink pagoda

The thing I love most about entertaining outside, is the lack of mess and clutter it creates inside! Our homes have to work so hard these days - and my boys are definitely not getting any smaller - so every spare inch counts. Which is why, when Very asked if I’d partner with them to help show off their fabulous home & garden range, my instant thought was to create an outdoor tablescape perfect for summer entertaining. AKA getting my guests out of the house and into the garden ASAP before they notice the piles of laundry everywhere. Another thing I really love about eating outside is that ..read more

Why sleep deprivation forced me to leave London
The Pink House Blog

My London bedroom, where I love to sleep uninterrupted by screaming babies This post is sponsored by TEMPUR® I was eight years old, crying silently in the bottom bunk of my Brownie camp dorm. Was I being bullied? Worrying about being away from home? Scared of the dark? Nope. Instead, my distress stemmed from the fact that, at the shockingly late hour of 10pm, my fellow Brownie Guides in their pastel pyjamas, revved up on toasted marshmallows and the glee of forbidden conversation, WOULD NOT SHUT UP AND LET ME SLEEP. As I lay there, tears pooling in my dirty little ears, all I could think was ..read more

Is this the sexiest pink and green kitchen ever?

The walls are painted in Edward Bulmer blush pink with graduated quantities of pigment according to the amount of daylight At first the red stool “was a shock” but the owner grew to love it so much they bought a clock to match I haven’t written a house tour blog post for SO long but I’ve fallen hard for this delicious kitchen and thought it deserved more interweb space than I could give it on Instagram. The kitchen belongs to a terraced 2-bedroom cottage in Fulham, West London and was created by visionary interior designer Zoe Stopford for a client who thought an entirely grey kitchen ‘might ..read more

I'm swinging in Metro newspaper!

The Metro found out I had a trapeze in my home and they wanted to know more - so I told them! This article is all about the part of The Pink House I call the Playroom, and why it’s just as much about adults having fun as kids. Incredibly, Coco the ridiculously fluffy cat does not appear in this shot. Perhaps she’s finally heeding the directive on the cushion… I hope you like it! With thanks to the Metro for featuring me, and to Susie Lowe who took the photo ..read more

The PLAY chair with me and Katie OK so I think this might just be THE most exciting brand project I’ve worked on in the six years since The Pink House launched so please forgive me if I’m a little high pitched! Because partnering up with DFS (the UK’s biggest sofa retailer and manufacturer no less) and my buddy Katie Woods (of @comedowntothewoods Insta-fame) to design a range of SIX (one for each year of The Pink House) patterned armchairs, named The Pattern Project, has been a collab made in interiors heaven. The KIND chair The CALM chair The CONNECT chair The DREAM chair The HOPE chair ..read more

The best room in The Pink House

“Which is your favourite room in The Pink House?” is a question I’m often asked. As my home has recently been renovated I find this difficult to answer, as I love it all!  I adore our playroom, with its internal steel windows, bright blue walls and proper circus trapeze dangling over the sofa. Then there’s the kitchen, the sunny, colourful heart of our family home. Oh, and my newly-constructed hallway, with acres of pretty tiles and the storage solutions of dreams – there’s even a designated ‘mud cupboard’ for the boys’ football kit! And then, just off the hallway is – sigh! – the perfec ..read more

From Reel to REAL: my interiors style from the 1990s till today

1990s 2020s Over on Instagram I’ve shared a 30-second Reel video offering a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it tour of my home style and fashion sense (and choice of beverage: Hooch for the 90s win!) from the 1990s to the present day. In this blog post I’m going into a bit more detail about the influences and inspiration behind my style in each decade, with cringe-worthy pictorial evidence, of course! This retrospective is part of my contribution to multi-award-winning housing association Catalyst’s ‘A Place of Your Own’ campaign, which is about charting people’s property history over the ye ..read more

The Room I Couldn't Be Bothered To Renovate - the reveal!
The Pink House Blog

[ALL ‘AFTER’ PHOTOS BY SUSIE LOWE STUDIO] This was the penultimate room in The Pink House to be renovated, and I confess I wasn’t eager to get started. Why? So many reasons: When we don’t have guests, the room is used as a home office by the Pink House Husband, who is a tricky, unadventurous client with dubious taste  It’s a pretty small, awkwardly dimensioned (long and thin) room Because of its dual usage as guest room and home office, there are lots of practical (dull) considerations when it comes to the room’s design No charming period features to speak of, or indeed much scop ..read more
