Young people are being offered the chance to boost their employability at a series of workshops in West Yorkshire. The Yorkshire Asian Business Community Action group is hosting the Building Connections workshops to build young people’s employability skills and boost their chances of landing a job. A scheme backed by UK Youth has won a top award. The Kentucky Club, KFC‘s inclusive members club for young people aged 16-24, has won the Experiences for Good award at the 2024 Campaign Media Awards. Everyone at UK Youth is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Julia Rausing. Mrs Rausing and her husband Hans were huge supporters of our work, contributing £10 million to our Thriving Minds fund to support young people’s mental health and £1.3m to support youth organisations post-Covid. Thriving Minds is an ambitious fund for projects which improve mental health support and provision for young people. UK Youth has welcomed the Government’s commitment to supporting young people’s mental health. To mark children’s mental health week, UK Youth joined more than 25 organisations, led by children and young people’s mental health charity Place2Be, in writing to the Government calling for urgent invesment in children’s mental health services. UK Youth attended the All Party Parliamentary Group on Youth Affairs with two #iwill ambassadors, Finlay and Phoebe, and two of our interns in UK Youth‘s impact team, Emma and Isabella, writes Kate Roberts, UK Youth policy manager.
