I’m filled with a macabre kind of comfort when gazing upon the dark surrealist work of Jennifer Allnutt. Her body of work titled “Flowers of Evil” truly resonates with the morbid yet memorable expression “memento mori”. Fair skinned women lie with pained expressions enveloped in bouquets of vibrant flowers. These flowers soak up the life from these women blooming from the death and rot of humanity.
