Well, nothing like the numbers that were at last months Bonsai Chat but still a fair turnout ay yesterday’s April community day here at Willowbog Bonsai. That rare thing in bonsai, a husband and wife  team, David and Jane seemed to enjoy their day. Three more regulars putting in to practice the ” Chat ” bit of Bonsai Chat. Three other Willowboggers taking advantage of the last chance to sample Jean’s famous soup, at least for the current season, we might hope that the weather for our May chat day will be nice enough for the hot soup to not be needed !  With the taking of photos being left d ..read more

Having accepted bookings from a dozen participants for yesterday’s March workshop here at Willowbog Bonsai I was fully aware that we were in for a busy day. And a busy day was what we had. March of course is the prime time for the repotting exercise with most bonsai so with the amount of practical work that the participants were going to want to get through I kept the discussion [ chatting ]  bit to a minimum, only one and a half hours and I kept it focused on the main subject of repotting, probably the most important bonsai technique anyone carries out. Mr. Peter Warren conducted yet another excellent four days of workshops here at Willowbog Bonsai between Thursday and Sunday of last week. The following photos are intended to give a sense of what these workshops are all about. Six enthusiasts each day and each day starting with a discussion period based upon the season, appropriate tasks,  and the range of trees brought along by the participants.
