Saipranathi Sreeram grew up in Bengaluru, India, surrounded by objects of Craft. Jewellery was one of these, but their particular interest was developed later. For it is now a language, a way of expression. This week we interview the talented Carlotta Mercado whose Stonewall Pearls Collection is inspired by the iconic Stonewall Uprising of 1969. The Stonewall inn in Greenwich City New York provided a safe haven for Gay, Lesbian and Transgender people. This week we speak to Madrid based Esteban Erosky as part of our Queer Exhibition. Coming from a sculptural background, Esteban has moved into creating handmade brooches with playful twists. The 'Family Memories' collection of three brooches features hand-painted portraits with unexpected twists.
