Come and join me in ending 2020 in some little Acts of Kindness. It’s been a bit of a rubbish year for lots of people, and when the world seems to be all going JUST ALL WRONG it gets a bit overwhelming. I find it important to remember that although we can’t sort out the big global problems on our own we can do a few little things which might make life easier for some. It makes us feel better, it makes others feel better. Everyone wins! I’ve just started reading “How to be Hopeful” by Bernadette Russell which is “Your toolkit to rediscover hope and help create a kinder world” and I’m ex ..read more

Key Christmas Shopping Dates for 2020

It’s NEARLY that time of year again! And I know it’s still early to be mentioning Christmas but this year it’s going to be a little different. More than any other year we’re going to be looking for meaningful gifts - something special, and unique. Handmade definitely fits the bill. This year I really want my money to go to small businesses, and makers where it will really make a difference (Im guessing Jeff Bezos won’t notice my absence!) But it’s really important to remember that smaller, handmade businesses need more time to make and fulfil orders. For example, although I’ll try to prepare ..read more

New stackers now in the shop!

Gold heart ring with moonstone and turquoise. My birthstone stacking rings have always been my best selling collection. They are an absolute joy to make, and I love the stories behind them and how much they mean to the wearer. So last year I expanded the range of stackers, to spread that joy a little further, by adding some super delicate 1mm bands with 3mm round cabochons. These are really dainty - so you can stack more together easily and swap them around. They’re also less costly than the regular stackers, starting at just £18. But this year, after requests from several customers, I felt ..read more

Things have been busy here since I got back to work in April after the initial lockdown period. It’s been so lovely making gifts, and special treats for people, especially in these tricky times. And I love the big trend to support small and handmade businesses. It’s less easy to get out to the local high street at the moment, but online shopping has definitely helped to fill that space. There are so many unique, special online shops to explore! I’m going to put together a little blog post of some of my fave little businesses soon, and I’d love to hear about some of your favourites (or your bu ..read more

You might remember I booked in to do a Craft market which was due to take place a few weeks ago. Obviously, there won’t be any “real - life” craft markets happening for a little while, but in the meantime the lovely organisers from The Crafter’s Market are setting up a special virtual version. It will be held on 20th June and is looking like it’s going to be really fun, with some live sessions (including one from fellow Brockham resident and now home school lockdown cooking superstar (ish) Ruth’s Little Kitchen. I’ll let you know more info nearer the time ..read more

I hope you and yours are keeping well, and have ajusted to life on lockdown! My current view. After much deliberation (honestly, I’ve been going round in circles with this one!!) I’ve decided to start taking orders again. We’ve got to keep on going in these crazy times haven’t we, and I’ve had lots of requests from people wanting birthday gifts sent direct to loved ones. Things will run a little differently to usual though; 1) I’ll try where possible to send items in a package that will fit through your letterbox. My ring boxes are quite large and don’t usually fit, so for now I’ll send these ..read more

Coronavirus - update April 3rd

Well what a crazy few weeks. It’s now 3rd April, and we’re just coming to the end of our second week of home schooling and not quite sure what the weeks ahead will hold. I decided to shut the shop temporarily, whilst I try and get my head around the whole strange situation. I’m honestly not sure if we should be keeping the economy going as much as possible, with us smaller makers and business owners still selling and posting out our wares, or whether we should be minimising the amount we’re selling in order to help the Royal Mail cope with the ..read more

I don’t normally do markets or event; when the kids were little weekends were family time and I was reluctant to lose a precious day of it. Now they’re older, they can just come along and help :-) I’m really excited - I think it will be lovely to show off my work in person. My first event of the year will be THE CRAFTER’S MARKET on 28th March. It’s at Nutfield Lodge, near Redhill RH1 4ED And as well as lots of stalls they’re running some really lovely looking workshops. Kind of wishing I could leave my stall and go do those too! Arm knitting anyone? I’d love it if you could come. Let me ..read more

Along with my shiny new logo and website update, I’ve been working behind the scenes to get some lovely new boxes organised. It’s funny because I quite liked my old boxes until I got these beauties made. Honestly, they are so ridiculously classy that I cant quite believe they’re mine! I get my boxes from the Tiny Box Company and I love working with them because they are passionate about recycling. I went for the luxury boxes which are super sturdy so they’re perfect for storing your jewellery in for years to come, but if you prefer they can be easily recycled. It was suprising to me that mos ..read more
