Wow it's been a while! A whole year since I've been here. So much, yet so little has happened at the same time! I usually do a things I've learned, or a reflection of the year just ending, but it didn't seem right for 2020. I don't really do resolutions, I can't seem to stick to them, forget them, or just lose track of them. This year, for 2021, I'm taking some old, and creating some new daily habits, and these are the 5 I'm aiming for this year. • Morning Coffee Thoughts I've been sharing my morning coffee thoughts over on my Instagram for over a year now, and I have no plans to stop! 19 THINGS I'VE LEARNED IN 2019

So this post started as a reflection of the last decade but quickly escalated into a book/therapy session so I quickly canned it! 2019 has been the hardest year I've had in a while, maybe because it's because it's so fresh, or maybe because it really was hard, but I've learned some valuable lessons, from mistakes, and living! This year has also been a year of firsts. I competed in my first individual and team CrossFit competitions. As a serial 'non follow through-er' this was huge for me! There have been so many times in the past where lack of self belief have stopped me from following throug ..read more

LOOKING AFTER NO 1 FROM THE INSIDE OUT

For so many years I didn't care what I put into my body because I didn't see any lasting effects from excess food, alcohol, lack of vitamins and minerals (despite what my mom warned me!). In the last few years, as I've become more and more involved in health and fitness, and I'm obviously getting older, I'm very aware that my body need more than I was providing it. I love trying and testing new products and seeing what, if any, effect they have on my body, my hair and skin, and my overall health. For the past 4 weeks I've been using ALL•K•ME Youth Foundation and Green Elixir. ALL*K*ME asked m ..read more

YOGA FOR WEIGHTLIFTERS

Tight hips and hamstrings, sore shoulders, lack of mobility and range of motion? I hear you! And I've got you! Since I've been training with weights more, I've noticed that I need to alter my yoga practice slightly to really concentrate on the areas that feel tight and sore following a session and also to prep my body for future sessions. Stretching, mobility and yoga are really important for prehab and rehab of the muscles and also helping to increase that all important range of motion. Struggling for depth in a squat? Lack of range in a snatch? Struggling to get under the bar at lightening s ..read more

THE MAGIC OF BALI

Call me biased but I truly believe Bali is magical. Since I first visited in 2017, I've felt a constant pull back there and after a further 3 visits, it never gets old. Bali has a unique way of touching your heart and soul. It engrains itself deep inside you and never lets go. In 2017, I felt lost and confused, a little unsure of who I was, so I did the cliche thing and visited Bali alone to try to 'discover' myself. Less Eat, Pray, Love - more Eat, Pray, Sleep! I needed space with my thoughts, I needed somewhere undisturbed, beautiful, natural, and somewhere I felt safe and secure. I knew th ..read more

UPGRADE YOUR HOME WORKOUT KIT

Don’t get me wrong, the motivation of a gym, classes, and people are sometimes exactly what I need for my workouts but sometimes, If I’m short on time or I can’t get to the gym for some reason, home workouts are my go to! I don’t have a huge amount of space at home for storing big and bulky equipment and I get that alot of people may be in the same situation but you don’t need masses of equipment in order to get a good and varied workout at home!!I love to workout outdoors at home (weather permitting!) so I make sure my equipment is portable and easy to move about so I can set it out how I ne ..read more

Finally our Bali yoga retreat is live and kicking and booking is open!! This is something I've dreamed of for years but timing has always been off and something had been holding me back. I've always known I wanted to host a retreat, known for a while Bali was the place where it would all start but never felt the actual draw to go ahead and dive in. Cue a teeny push from my friend and teacher Terrie Foster aka Asher Yoga , and all of a sudden the universe aligned and we're actually doing this!! As soon as I qualified as a yoga teacher a few years ago, I knew I wanted to share yoga with as many ..read more

UNLEARNING IS THE KEY TO MOVING FORWARDS

Unlearning is the key to moving forwards. Just let that sit with you for a while. For the past few weeks, months, maybe even years I've felt stuck. Knowing I've got a purpose, knowing I'm destined for more but not really knowing what. I've done the courses, got the qualifications, read the books and listened to the podcasts in the hope of that light bulb moment, and when it hasn't happened I've carried on looking for another avenue, something else to consume with the magic answers or the key to unlock my brain. We've become so conditioned to the fact that the answer lies out there somewhere ..read more

GOALS, GOALS, GOALS!!

Hand's up! I'm the worst person ever at sticking to goals! I make them, I write them down, hell, I even tell people sometimes. But then I forget about them and moan in 6 months time when I still haven't achieved them! A few years ago I did quite a bit of work on goal setting. My goals used to be along the lines of lose 3 stone, win the lottery and write a book in a month. I get you need to dream big, but at the same time, need to be realistic here and set goals that are achievable instead of pie in the sky! Nowadays, my goals are more specific and realistic while at the same time still pushin ..read more
