Dinghy Frostbite Series The club had a busy weekend with the annual prize giving last Friday, the AGM on Saturday and the frostbite series on Sunday. Races twelve and thirteen were sailed last Sunday 17th in a cold but Sunny bay, in the first race of the day seven boats took part in a closely matched race. In first place was the Osprey sailed by Dan and Lucas, in second place Peter and Andy in the Scorpion and third Jamie and Tim in another Osprey. A Commodores Farewell Well it’s been two years since I was elected into the position of Commodore and took the helm of Tenby Sailing Club. But as frank Sinatra once said now the end is near. Well tomorrow in fact. There have been many ups and downs but luckily for me there have been more ups than downs...........Just! Dinghy Racing The frostbite season continued with two races sailed last Sunday the 03rd the winner of the first race as Jon and Amelia in the Laser2000 then in second Steve and Jasmin in a RS400 closely followed by Dan and Scarlett in their Rs 200. In fourth was Peter and Oscar in a Scorpion and in fifth another Scorpion sailed by Christian and Simon. In sixth was Ted and Lucas and in Seventh was Ben in a Laser. Dinghy Racing The frostbite season continued with two races sailed last Sunday the 27th after the disappointing loss to South Africa. Eight boats took to the water in a sunny pleasant but ever decreasing wind. In race one top spot went to Peter and Oscar in the Scorpion, in second Mike and Deanna in an Osprey closely followed by Ted and Lucas also in an Osprey. In fourth was Ioan in the Laser Radial and fifth Jon and Amelia in a Laser 2000. Dinghy Racing The frostbite season continued with two races sailed last Sunday the 20th, three boats took part as others were away at TATA steel regatta. The weather last Sunday was sunny with a great breeze the results for the two races didn’t change and the results went like this. In first place Ioan in a Laser Radial in second Dyfan in his Rs Aero 7 and in third John in the Comet. Positions for the Tenby Ospreys that went to TATA regatta were as follows, Dan and Chris came second, Carwyn (Mostly Tenby) and Paul from TATA came third and Jamie with Tim came fifth. Dinghy Racing The Frostbite Series is now well under way, and last Sunday 13th racing was sailed in interesting but fun winds. Although there were capsizes the rescue boat coped admirably and even if everyone ended up testing their buoyancy aids a good time was had by all. The results are as follows. In first place was the Osprey sailed by Jaime Bohata and Tim in second was Daniel sailing a Laser in third Ben also in a Laser although after a hard sail he did not finish. Dinghy Racing On Tuesday the 24th five boats braved the element and took to the water for a close matched race, in first place was Steve and Jasmine in the Rs 200 then next in second was the Scorpion sailed by Peter and Igor. Next in third was Ted and Lucas in an Osprey the in forth another Osprey sailed by Jamie and Tim. Last be not by any means least in fifth was Josh in a laser. The race was a close-run thing as only twelve seconds separated the top three after corrected times. Dinghy Racing Eight boats took part in the evening’s race last Tues 17th and they were greeted with a lovely flat sea and the sunset wasn’t to bad either. The results for the race are as follows in first place was Peter and Igor in the Scorpion then followed over the line in second was Jamie and Tim in an Osprey. In third was James in the laser and fourth Scarlett and Oscar in an RS Feva XL. Fifth Richard and Alistair in an Osprey then in sixth John in a Comet, then followed by Bill and Pater in the Redwing in seventh. One boat unfortunately did not complete the race. Dinghy Racing Last Tues saw eleven yes eleven boats on the water, almost class it as a mini regatta, it was great to see two of the usually youth sailors coming up to the big sailing group. So welcome Scarlett Jackson and Oscar Thompson may you win many trophies along the way. The results for the race were in first place Peter and Igor in the Scorpion and in Second Steve and Jasmine in their Rs 400. Dinghy Racing Last Tues the 3rd six boats took to the bay and it was a battle between the four Lasers and one Osprey. In first and second place were two lasers sailed by Peter and Ban, in third place Jamie and Tim in the lonely Osprey and the other two lasers in fifth and sixth place sailed by James and Ioan respectively. Sunday the 8th saw five boats take to the bay in a lovely sunny warm breezy Sunday. Two races took place and in the top spot was Ed and Emily in their RS 200 closely followed by Dan in the Osprey.
