The fifth and penultimate port of Tall Ships Races 2024 is Mariehamn and ships have been arriving here from the Cruise-in-Company from Turku. Mariehamn is the capital of Aland. Following an exciting second race from Tallinn, the Tall Ships fleet finished making their way into Turku on the fourth stop of the The Tall Ships Races 2024.
With vessels arriving along the River Aura since Tuesday, excitement had been building all week for the majestic return of the Tall Ships fleet for the first time since 2017. Captains and crews triumphantly made their way alongside, eager to explore the Finnish city and exchange experiences from a life-changing voyage.

A highlight for trainees in all Tall Ships Races is the Crew Parade – an opportunity to march, dance or stride through the streets of the host port representing your ship and usually accompanied by a cacophony of marching bands and formal and informal ship ‘bands’. Tallinn was no exception! Around a thousand trainees and crew made their way this afternoon in an array of costumes along a route through town to the main stage in Seaplane Harbour.

The Estonian port of Tallinn has welcomed the Tall Ships Races 2024 into its harbours today and this medieval city is now buzzing with young trainees, crew and spectators. Spectators watched as ships such as Guayas (Equador), pictured above, moored up around three neighbouring harbours.
The official opening ceremony took place this evening in the heart of the event area. Crowds came out once again on the second day of celebrations in Helsinki to get up close with the Tall Ships fleet and enjoy the colourful spectacle of the Crew Parade and Prize Giving Ceremony.
Overcast conditions and the threat of rain in the morning failed to dampen spirits in the Finnish capital, before completely clearing ahead of the traditional Crew Parade which was accompanied by crystal blue skies and sunshine. The perfect backdrop to a true explosion of colour and energy.

With Captains and crews still buzzing from an exciting race through the Baltic sea from Klaipeda, visitors in Helsinki wasted no time in welcoming the magnificent fleet to their shores. After years of planning and preparations, the Lithuanian city of Klaipeda welcomed the Tall Ships fleet for the start of The Tall Ships Races 2024.
As the vessels arrived in the sunlit port of Klaipeda, they received a stunning welcome with crowds lining the port eager to start four days of celebrations. With four days of attractions, live music, sports and more, the crews and spectators were eager to get the party started.
