Doula UK publish evidence of the positive impact that doulas make and the growing demand for doula support.
We are very proud to share new evidence of the positive impact that Doula UK doulas make and the growing demand for doula support.
Our members provide us with information about the doula support they have completed over the past year (2022 – 2023). From this data we are able to identify the positive impact of having a doula during pregnancy, birth, and after the birth of a baby. Doula UK has over 700 members.

Doula UK publish evidence of an increase in families seeking doula support and the positive impact that doulas make.
Each year Doula UK members, of which there are currently over 650 doulas working across the UK, complete a annual return detailing their doula work from the previous year. We have collated this data and are delighted to share the results with you which clearly show an increase in the demand for doula birth and postnatal support and show the positive outcomes and benefits of having a doula during pregnancy, birth and the after the birth of a baby.

All Doula UK members are eligible to volunteer for the Access Fund.
In May this year we were incredibly fortunate to receive funding from Safer Beginnings to support more people through the Access Fund than ever before. We are in great need of more Access Fund doulas, particularly those who offer post natal support.

Doula UK awarded £16,200 funding from the Safer Beginnings programme to provide postnatal doula support to those most in need.
We are delighted to announce that Doula UK have been awarded £16,200 in funding from the Safer Beginnings programme, led by Best Beginnings and the White Ribbon Alliance UK and made possible with funding from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport through the Tampon Tax Fund.
