“Resilience is that ineffable quality that allows some people to be knocked down by life and come back stronger than ever. Rather than letting failure overcome them and drain their resolve, they find a way to rise from the ashes.” That is Psychology Today’s definition of resilience, to – despite disappointment or defeat – bounce back and carry on. After the results of the England V Italy game last night I thought I would share my top tips for being resilient.  Resilience isn’t easy, we often run into setbacks and defeat and that can be really discouraging.  Disappointment an ..read more

Think like Sigrid: Having Confidence to Leave a Relationship “I love who I see looking at me In the mirror, in the mirror Nothing compares to the feeling right there In the mirror, in the mirror I needed loneliness to know there’s nothing That I can’t turn into confidence I couldn’t play pretend And I’m sorry that you had to pay the consequences” Think like  Sigrid a Winner Yesterday I was listening to Sigrid’s newest song ‘Mirror’ and it really got me thinking about self-esteem. Sometimes we stay in situations we aren’t happy with because we lack the confidence to move on ..read more

What is the first thing you do in the morning? Do you get up and go for a walk? Do you make a motivational plan for the day ahead? Or do you check your phone? Research shows us that 70% of smartphone users check their phones within 15 minutes of waking up. So if you roll over in bed in the morning for a little scroll through Instagram or a quick flick through Twitter , then I hate to say it, but you are one of many others who are being swallowed by your socials.  Now I’m not saying that social media is bad, of course it isn’t. People are more connected now than they have ever been b ..read more

Working Lunch at The DoubleTree by Hilton Over the last year, there have been a few too many times that I have had the urge to chuck on my best glad rags and go out for a delicious dinner or a champagne-filled lunch with my team. But with COVID-19 sweeping the nation as well as the world, businesses all over the globe have felt the harsh effects of this virus. Unfortunately, some businesses have had to close doors for good, and for others, we’ve had to adjust to working in the virtual world almost permanently for the past year and a half. Thankfully with COVID-19 cases on the low and bu ..read more

2020, WHAT A YEAR!!  It’s not often that a worldwide pandemic comes knocking, and its effects have been felt by us all. Things we had previously taken for granted like going to shops, visiting family members, and going on holiday have been taken away. For some, the effects have been even more detrimental. People have lost jobs, members of their family, and even their homes. In today’s blog, I want to discuss the effects COVID-19 has had on the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, a theory which explores human motivation. I had heard the name before but I had never really understood it or it’s si ..read more

SALES IS LIKE CLIMBING A MOUNTAIN

3 weeks ago I travelled the 12-hour return journey to North Wales to climb Mount Snowdon. Unfortunately, the climb was cancelled because the wind and rain made it too dangerous to attempt the accent. You can watch the vlog below. Sunday, saw me repeat the trip, but this time it ended in success, I reached the top. It took 7 hours to the 1,085 m summit and back. Why is this similar, to sales? 1. You need to know who your prospect is. Snowdown was tough but achievable, so I knew we were a perfect fit. When it comes to prospecting, you need to aim your sights within attainable reach. 2. I ..read more

A couple of months ago Rebecca and I attended the “Get booked as a speaker, again and again” course run by Maria Franzoni, Mary Tillson-Wharton and the team.   After sharing on my social media that I was attending, I received several DM’s from my connections to ask me why I was investing in the course. They were surprised that as an established speaker who is booked well in advance that I would gain any value from attending.   My answer was, you can always learn new things, “every day is a school day”. Maria is an expert in her field and ha ..read more

Emotions Are Like The Weather

Emotions are like the weather.   Sometimes we have sunny days, weeks, even months. Take this summer, for example, for me I remember it being very sunny most of the time. Other times the weather is awful, we go for weeks without an inch of sunshine, and the rain keeps hammering down, sometimes we even get thunder and lightning.    It’s a little bit like our emotions. Often, we’re feeling good for days, weeks, or even months. All of a sudden, the pitter-patter of rain starts. Unlike the weather, we can change whether we decide we would like ..read more

If you don’t know much about my book story, you won’t know that I have dyslexia. I still remember the taste of sick in my mouth when my English teacher would ask me to read a paragraph aloud in class. I struggled to read or write for my whole life, and it wasn’t until recently I chose to defeat my stigma and write my own book. In January 2016 I became an author when I sat down to write Secrets of Successful Sales. As a dyslexic, writing the book was one of the biggest challenges I had taken on in my life. The struggle trying to get the wo ..read more

When your words mean nothing I go La, La, La! Shh, did you know there are things in life that no one prepares you for? Well, if you are anything like me, people try to prepare you, but my overoptimistic demeanour causes me to be like Naughty Boy and Sam Smith, I don’t listen.  “When their words mean nothing, I go La La La!” They may be talking but the sounds ain’t hitting my radar! It’s going in one ear and out the other! We are constantly given advice from others, you shou ..read more
