If you haven’t already, make moisturizer a part of your daily routine. Apply in the morning and/or evening, and add in some affirmations as you do so. Use an affirmation you choose, or keep it simple and just repeat, “I love you. I love you. I love you,” as you look at your reflection. As you massage the moisturiser into your skin, look in the mirror and repeat your chosen affirmations. It might make you feel a bit silly at first, but honestly, you deserve to love yourself! It began circa 2010 with an online Kitchen Witch forum, in the days when forums were hip and trendy. Then in 2012 we opened our doors as the Kitchen Witch Online School of Witchcraft and they have been open ever since. Huge thanks to everyone that has been a part of our journey so far. We have made some amazing friends along the way and built a wonderful community. We are honoured and blessed to walk this witchcraft journey with our fabulous students and also those that have become a part of or community via the Kitchen Witch Coven fb group, YouTube and other social media platforms. What is the matter with Mary Jane? She's perfectly well and she hasn't a pain, And it's lovely rice pudding for dinner again! (A.A. Milne) Starting with a culinary triumph for me. In my 55 years I have cooked and baked many things from cakes and cookies through to entire banquets for weddings and events (including all the food for my own wedding of 70 guests). However, the humble rice pudding, which is one of my all time favourites has proved to be my nemesis, until now. I have tried many, many recipes all of which have failed in some way usually coming out of the oven too runny and/or the r ..read more

Keep a nice, big, pretty jar or box somewhere visible. At the end of each day write something on a slip of paper that has made you happy. It doesn’t have to be a big event: it could be finding your favourite cake in the bakers, seeing the first flower of spring, or even just being excited to crawl in bed. If you have lost someone, write a favourite memory about them that popped into your head that day. Remember to include positive thoughts about yourself too! Write down when you made someone else happy or did something you were proud of. If you are having a bad day—or if you want to ..read more

Life is always busy at Kitchen Witch HQ but this past week has been total utter chaos, but in an absolutely fabulous way. Lots going on behind the scenes with new projects and ventures. Apologies for being vague but planning and testing has to be done first. Adding to the chaos we are having the front of our house re-painted, the front wall rendered, new paving and a new gate. This means that Eric has someone to bark at continuously for the entire day, every day this week. Thankfully the crew are lovely and incredibly patient with him. Several days of preparation were done and then yesterda ..read more

Magical Self Care: Everyday Ritual for Worry

I love a bit of drumming, and making noise can really help release negative emotion and raise your energy. If you have a drum, perfect! If not, you can improvise. Use a metal biscuit tin or a saucepan and wooden spoon. When you feel the need to release worry, fears, or tension, get your drum out and give it a good ol’ bang! Walk around the house, stand in the garden, or take yourself out to the woods and make some noise. Really give it some gusto. With each bang of the drum visualise your worries being crushed and destroyed. Let the sound take them away. And then possibly apologise ..read more

Magical Self Care: Everyday Ritual for Guilt

Salt is a naturally cleansing and purifying ingredient. At the end of each day, grab a pinch of salt and put it in the palm of your hand. Add a little warm water and gently wash your hands with it. As you wash, visualise all the negative energy, bad habits, and old patterns being cleansed, released, and washed away. Say to yourself, “Guilt is not mine to hold on to. I release it.” Then dry your hands and put on some moisturiser. As you rub it into your hands, visualise positive energy replacing the negative.   Source: Curative Magic by Rachel Patterson Header image create ..read more
