Over the past several years, it has become increasingly clear that benefits aren’t keeping pace with shifting employee demands and expectations. At a time when employees want more robust financial support and flexible benefits that meet their unique needs, too many HR teams are still reliant on traditional benefits such as PTO. Employees leave huge sums in unused PTO on the table each year, which means they’re not getting the full value of the benefits they’ve earned while companies are confronting large balance sheet liabilities.
HR teams are exploring innovative approaches to benefits that ..read more

In today’s digital age, where much of our work is conducted on computers, the keyboard plays a crucial role in ensuring our comfort and productivity. Computer usage may involve uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, static load, and contact stress, all of which can contribute to musculoskeletal issues. Poor postures during keyboard utilisation include shoulder elevation, elbows positioned away from the body, neck and head flexion or extension, mid-back flexion, and wrist bending in various directions (flexion, extension and or side bending). The labor market in the U.S. is strong, but that is not preventing job cuts—most notably at technology companies. Experts are forecasting more cost-cutting at corporations of all sizes this year, with a lot of that taking the form of headcount reductions.
Recent announcements of layoffs from companies like Nike, Mattel, PayPal, Cisco, Levi Strauss, and UPS underscore that the reductions are not limited to tech companies. But the layoffs continue for tech giants as well. By the latest count, U.S. companies announced 82,307 job cuts this year in January alone, more than double the number ..read more

The problem with defining meaning
I’m not the world’s biggest proponent of hard definitions. Many people use employer value proposition (EVP) and employer brand interchangeably – and very often, that’s just fine.

There’s a risk that the narrowness of labels you apply, means people don’t understand or don’t see the value of what you’re trying to do
A broad, always-applicable definition

Most companies depend on HR teams to share critical information with all employees. However, ensuring everyone reads those messages can be challenging. To help employees feel included and guarantee a successful knowledge relay, they’re now turning to SMS texts.

When HR teams must inform staff of important policies and other updates, texting ensures those essential messages get to everyone. Texts are unlike emails, where they’re more likely to sit unopened. Instead, they grab attention immediately because people always check their phones. It’s how mo ..read more
