Love bombing is one of the cruellest experiences in the world of dating. I recently had an interesting experience and wanted to share what happened. I want to share the red flags that happened and that I ‘should’ have seen, and that my wonderful friend Debs DID point out, that I ignored, to let others know what to watch out for. Gas Lighting, Bread Crumbing, Love Bombing and other Narcissistic traits are all terms thrown around in the world of dating. But after spending a couple of years dating I can 100% assure you that they happen all the time. These men are out there, a lot of them, and it ..read more

How to Survive Winter – Physical and Mental Health

For the last twenty years I have struggled with the winter months. Some years the darkness has started in November and not ended until March. I feel like it has become a self full-filling prophecy. I will feel tired, emotional, unsocial for months on end and I don’t know why I feel like this. There were sessions with a psychotherapist when I was 30 and she diagnosed me with seasonal affective disorder. Maybe its not living near the sea, maybe its the death of my parents as a teenager, maybe its becoming a mum. Or maybe its just the lack of vitamin D and daylight hours. Try Something Different ..read more

“For someone of your size, you can run a really good 5k time”. Yes those words were said to me, to my face, by a man I was dating. A shockingly gaslighty comment from a not very nice man, and it hit me hard. hard enough to walk away, delete and block that man. It’s sat with me for a while, the words sting. I cannot remember a time when I have ever been happy with my weight or body shape and have spent a lot of my life worrying about it and what others think me. Comments about my weight stick with me. Aged 11 in year 7 of secondary school when two boys in my form told me I was fat, a normal siz ..read more

New year is often about resetting life goals, no booze, less meat, more exercise, more sleep, more water. But the biggest reset for me was deleting dating apps. Why are they so damned addictive? I have spent the past twelve months dating, getting a dopamine hit from getting a new match, a conversation that goes beyond ‘How are you?’…in fact every time I got a damned notification from those damned apps I felt a bit of excitement. this could be the one. Lets look at my stats. Most of 2023 saw me active on Bumble. The female led app, as in the woman has to message the man first. I estimate I had ..read more

Whilst doing my 64 laps of the pool on holiday every morning I thought of brilliant ideas of content to write about. This being one of them. I want to share how I changed my money mindset over the years and how you might be able to as well. Much of this story is linked to life events, as much of our behaviour is. Enjoy the story. The truth. We can be not great with money, and then change it up to be good. I was good, then not good, then good again. It’s totally possible! My Teens I was so good with money as a teenager, I had a job from the age of 14 and worked a lot of hours, earning good mone ..read more
