A key part of our nonprofit mission is our Ethical Submission Policy. We watch and consider every entry we receive, and often program films that come to us on the very last day of our Call For Entries.  Our Screening Panel is an important part of the process. Each season, a diverse group of volunteers consisting of filmmakers, festival programmers, and fans of indie cinema view our submissions and offer feedback. Women are always on our shortlist, and two female filmmakers have taken the position, Victoria Negri (2017) and Christie Conochalla (2021)-- but that isn't enough.
