I’m looking at a few apartments with uneven floors, in one case a 4” slant. Is that challenging to live with? I found it disorienting, but maybe it’s something to get used to.

Maybe I’m crazy- tell me if I am. I grew up in Philly, moved to Brooklyn a couple years back for grad school. I’ve lived in a few other major cities outside the US, too- namely Istanbul and Paris.
I’ll throw some stats out to show where my head is at: according to the NYPD, in 2023 NYC had 391 murders and 27.9k assaults. NYC has a population of 8.34 million, 1.23 million people commute here every day, and had 63.3 million tourists visit in 2023. That’s 72.87 million people who pass through NYC every year. So the odds of getting murdered in NYC? 0.0054%. The odds of being assaulted? 0.038%.

Hi! Lorcana is Disney's trading card game, and we're starting a casual weekly hangout for people who want to play! A bit less competitive than other places you'll find. We're open to beginners, helping people who have never played before. We have extra cards and chill attitudes. If you're interested, feel free to send a message or join the discord!

We are prioritizing finding an apartment with a small yard of some kind, because I have a dog who loves to be outside and I want him to have a little extra room to stretch his legs on potty breaks etc between walks. Garden level is a hard no for us both, but there are plenty of ground floor units available. I feel like all I see online are horror stories about NYC flooding, b ..read more

Blasphemous, I know. But doc says I gotta cut down on caffeine. I still need that coffee flavor fix, though.
Any cafes serve (actually) good decaf drip or even espresso?

Hi, my friend found this dog Yesterday near Lenox Rd and East 52nd St in Brooklyn, with the name Baxter on his tags. He was hit by a car so she took him to the vet at 1950 Ralph Avenue. She says he is not badly injured. Does anyone recognize Baxter?
