Just wondering what other opinions are. I think I’m losing weight since taking my position. I’m only barely a month in, and love it and its challenges everyday. Lmk in the comments submitted by /u/AdmirableHousing5340 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Any good suggestions for 3K graduation songs? Looking for something that won’t be too difficult for the kids to learn, probably something that has some repetition, etc. TIA! submitted by /u/CockapooDogMom [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

How can I support a child in foster care?

I have a student who is 4 and he is in foster care. No behavioral problems, but he does seem sad and distant. I found out he likes lizards so I showed him pictures of my leopard geckos. I been trying to create a bond with him, but I leave my current center in 3-4 weeks which honestly breaks my heart because I will miss my students, but I am not gonna miss my lead teacher lol. What can I do for him? submitted by /u/EmmaNightsStone [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Feeling Burnt out :/

I have been with the same group of 8 kids since September. When I got them they were about 18 months old (some a little younger). My director decided to have me move up with them so this is month 8 with the same kids. I feel so burnt out and bored. I used to love coming to work, but now I dread it. It’s not even the kids, it just feels so repetitive and I find myself getting frustrated with the kids much more than I used to. I should be getting a new bunch of kids in July (but there were also rumors they might move me with them AGAIN so I would have them until July of next year). I don’t whet ..read more

I’m a new lead teacher in the 3’s. My boys are having a VERY VERY hard time keeping their hands to themselves. They play rough, grabbing, pulling, squeezing, shoving, punching, kicking, tackling, you name it. All day long. I also have a few kids who are massive tantrum throwers. This group is responding well to positive reinforcement and ✨bribery with treats✨. My kids love books and engage really well when I read during circle time. I’d love to hear your recommendations on books for kind hands and handling big feelings. Also any suggestions for social emotional learning activities or rituals ..read more

Hey all! I am looking for a novice ECE preferably someone who is Black and from the Caribbean. I want to put together a child centered curriculum that focuses on kindergarten to age 12/13 newcomers. I have a website: fromoneseatoanother.com and the hope is that by the end of next year I will be hosting or putting together sessions for these kids. If you know of anyone that's willing to work together on this project you can send me an email at fromoneseatoanotherletsconnect@gmail.com or send me a chat request and we can discuss further. TO NOTE: THIS IS UNPAID. submitted by /u/Admirable_Strug ..read more

Have you ever found success getting a child who refuses to use the potty at school?

I have a child who is potty independent at home but she refuses to go at school. She’s at school nine hours a day. I know she’s gotten a lot of attention for it at home and it’s just a power struggle at this point. She still naps and gets a pull up during nap time and sometimes just soaks through it. But sometimes. she doesn’t even go in the pull ups. I’ve told staff just to not give it any attention any longer. We’ve tried taking her to different toilets and different teachers helping her. Her mom can come in and she’ll go with her mom but that’s it . I just am at a loss. submitted by /u/Mb ..read more

hi friends ? this post is in regards to the previous one i made on this sub! the investigation is still ongoing, i haven’t received any update, so i cannot give much of an update other than the child is in safer conditions with a relative. i actually have a question regarding images! when the incident happened with the child, i made sure to document and take pictures of the childs injuries for the sake of reporting. i notified the office and they did not take pictures, but it is on record that the child came in with marks. my director called me into her office many weeks ago and told me to de ..read more
