My mother's computer is old and she still uses Windows 7, she has been using 360 total security for many years but obviously it slow down Windows and I guess it doesn't work, I want to uninstall it but I don't know if Windows Defender for Windows 7 is enough, (mostly for adwares) and I wanted to know if Microsoft Security Essentials is a good alternative so that she is somewhat protected I ran malwarebytes and found 30 detections, and ran adwcleaner (which is from malwarebytes) and found 110 adwares?but I'm looking for a free alternative that provides complete protection apart from installing ..read more

Estaba usando mi Pc como siempre mientras jugaba overwatch cuando empezó a ir a 5 fps, normalmente llega a los 60 y eso me preocupo, me metí a las tareas para ver qué había pasado y la CPU estaba al 98% use el mcafee y un par de programas mas para borrar lo que se me habia metido al pc (reasonlabs) y empezo a ir bien. I'm an absolute noob when it comes to PC. I use it for torrenting (tgx), browsing, watching shows and movies and prawn videos. Today I ran a full scan and Microsoft Defender flagged the Trojan - 'Trojan:Script/Wacatac.H!ml' I quarantined it. I deleted Google Cache/browsing data. Rescanned using Defender. Also installed MalwareBytes and scanned using it. Nothing. I restarted pc and opened Google. Scanned again - Defender flagged Trojan again. I did the same steps again. Hello, I have a premium on MB. I always scan what I download with Virustotal as well and MB seems to do a good job with it's Live Protection for Web Surfing. Lately I see reviews saying that MB has a detection rate less than 97%. Hey guys appreciate the help! Just wanted to make sure that my PC has completely removed the threat. The first screenshot is the result from Windows Security. I note that it says it will be removed automatically. I then used Windows Powershell to change the scanpurgeitemsafterdelay from 15 to 5 days I then restarted the PC and reopened Windows Security and noted that the same item is still listed in Protection History I then wanted to remove the threat manually (thinking it hasnt been removed cause it still shows up on Windows Security Protection History).
