Birmingham Hippodrome has welcomed 15 musical theatre writers and creatives to their new Musical Theatre Writers Group programme. Musical Theatre Writers Group (MT Writers Group) is a key developmental programme that focuses on the craft of writing musical theatre. Come From Away is the extraordinary true story of a community that formed in the wake 9/11. When the airspace over North America was closed and planes were grounded, the town of Gander in Newfoundland suddenly found itself home to more than 6,500 passengers and crew. Birmingham Hippodrome has today (Thursday 28 March) announced that over £27,000 has been raised through their recent Hippodrome Unlocked fundraising campaign. This total surpassed their target of £20,000, which will increase access to theatre for young people in the West Midlands.
