Hey y’all so I’ve just started being genuinely interested in starting to get into kiteboarding and wanted some advice on where to start! I’m 6’1” and about 165 pounds and I live in Minnesota. What would be the best decent (cheap) beginner kit that I could get? Would I need constantly high winds or what is the minimum speed of wind that I’d need to be able to even do this? I have fairly large bodies of water near me to practice but I’ve also seen people do it on land with longboards too. Would you recommend land or water for a newbie? Hi there, I have 2 switchblades 9 and 12. And a 2017 slingshot guardian bar that I’m looking into replacing.. Given that both kites I’ll be flying now are from cabrinha, I was wondering if it would make sense to switch for a cabrinha bar. The options would be either the 2022 overdrive trimlite for 300eur or the COS one for 520eur. Ideally I wouldn’t like to spend over 500 euros on a new bar. Another option that I saw was to get a slingshot sentry v1.1 for 390eur Does anyone know if the sentry would work well with the switchblade? I’m trying to figure out what size my Mystic spreader bar is, as my harness is a bit too big and I want to get a Medium Mystic Majestic harness and sell my old one. Dear riders, I’d really appreciate your unbiased recommendations and opinions because sellers tend to suggest what they have in stock or make the best margin with. Even though I’m still a beginner, I feel like I will probably only buy 1 twintip board in my kiteboarding career, so probably not a beginner board like the Gonzales but rather one that I can enjoy for the next 10 - 20 years.
