A Spring Wedding at Ramble Creek Vineyard Caroline and Jake’s spring wedding at Ramble Creek Vineyard was absolutely stunning. The week leading up to their big day had a cold front come through, lots of rain, and just all around nasty weather. And then Saturday came and it was warmer, bright & sunny, and literally perfect. The sunset photos I got of Caroline & Jake at Ramble Creek Vineyard are some of my favorite Ramble Creek Vineyard photos I’ve ever taken. Just wait until you see them… shew… they are gorgeous. Spending the day with these two and their friends and family was serious ..read more

How You Give Back by Booking with Amanda May Photos I want to be very careful to say up front that I am not sharing this information with you to boast about what I’m doing. I’m not trying to get a pat on the back or a high five for these things. In fact, the ONLY reason I am able to do these things at all is because the Lord brought me clients like you, and absolutely all the glory goes to Him. My heart behind sharing this information is so you know the ways you are supporting both locally and globally by supporting Amanda May Photos. Sunny Sequoyah Hills Spring Engagement I had back to back engagement sessions last week that I’m totally obsessed with. I shared one yesterday, and I’m sharing Leighton and Cole’s Sequoyah Hills spring engagement session today. My oh my was this a gorgeous session. I don’t shoot Sequoyah Hills spring engagement sessions super often. But every time I do, I find new reasons to fall in love with this location. I find new spots I love, and the photos just get better and better. The surprising yet amazing spot at Leighton and Cole’s session was on the mud where the water was down. We wouldn’t hav ..read more

Downtown Knoxville Engagement You’ll notice more blurry photos than usual as you look through these urban engagement photos. This is because at the beginning of our time together, Emmy told me she really loves blurry photos. While I will always incorporate a few of those into your session, if you let me know you definitely want more/less of them, I can totally accommodate. Things like more blurry photos or more candid style photos. More landscape/portrait photos or more black and white photos. Those are all things you can ask of your photographer. Most will happily shift to capture more of t ..read more

An Engagement Session on the Lake I met Taylor and Andrew at The Cove at Concord Park to kick off their engagement session. Now that the blooms are slowly trickling into the different areas of Knoxville, I got there a little early to scout out if we would have any fresh florals to shoot with. While there weren’t any colors or flowering trees, there was greenery we used to bring life into their photos. I was still on the hunt for those pretty spring blooms though. Instead of sticking to The Cove for their entire session, I asked if they wanted to go to Admiral Park. They agreed, and about hal ..read more

Blair’s Valley Ranch Senior & Family Photos One perk of this job is when it takes me to parts of the world I have not yet seen. Blair’s Valley Ranch is on one of those crazy mountain backroads out in Sevierville. I have never had a reason to drive this road or see this view in my lifetime. I have now though, and I’m so glad I did. It is beautiful! If you like it, too, you can rent Blair’s Valley Ranch for your own photo session. It has an amazing view of the mountains and access to their horses (queue Margo who was a star in Alex’s senior photos here). You can also make it a little stayc ..read more

What to Put in your Details Box Over the last few years, I have noticed my brides becoming more and more invested in their detail photos. Detail photos are what I take at the beginning of the day while the bride and bridesmaids are getting ready. They set the mood for the whole day. They tell me so much about the overall vibe of the wedding. Black, white, and sleek details? Modern and classy day. Floral, pastel, and feminine details? Whimsical and romantic day. Gathering all your details together to style for beautiful photographs helps launch my creativity. Instead of arriving right before p ..read more

A little 6 Month Studio Session at Highlight Studio Hadley is already 6 months old and since her half birthday was in March we decided we definitely needed to do a studio. It ended up being a beautiful day but you just never know this time of year. So today I’m showing you the most adorable little Highlight Studio 6 month session. Starring one of my favorite families, the Howards. Every time I see them it’s like catching up with old friends. Our season of life is just chaotic. We each of 3 children, sports, school, jobs…all. the. things. Making time to just chat is not possible, so we use so ..read more

A Windy Hunter Valley Micro Wedding Jennifer and Wes hosted a gorgeous Hunter Valley micro wedding on March 10th. They had 10 of their closest family and friends join them as they tied the knot, and it was an honor to capture this for them! One of my favorite parts of this Hunter Valley micro wedding was seeing their kids have the best time. Wes has a son, and Jennifer has a daughter and a son who all just happened to be right around the same ages. From the second they all three got there, they were just the best of friends. They played the entire time. Giggling and laughing and genuinely lo ..read more

A Winter Wedding at Graystone Presbyterian and The Mill & Mine As you scroll through the photos below of Marissa and Wayne’s reception at The Mill & Mine, you’ll notice a photo of me on the far left and 3 couples gathered in with me on the right. These were all AMP couples and I am so thankful they all took the time to grab a quick photo with me! When past bridesmaids and groomsmen come back to me to photograph their wedding, it literally means the world. And in this case, Marissa & Wayne were not only past wedding party members, but Marissa is also the sister of one of my past g ..read more
