Last week on Full Circle, First Voice Graduate, Channa Wilson , along with her partner Dana travelled to Alaska where they met a wonderful family who are reviving their Haida Nation’s cultural practices. This is, of course, after the awful impacts of colonization: deaths from smallpox and other diseases, and Alaska Native children being shipped to boarding school where they were forbidden their language and cultural practices. On tonight’s show, we hear from the prayer vigil for Leonard Peltier, the American Indian Movement activist and land defender that is coming up on 50 years of incarceration for a crime he didn’t commit. Last week on Full Circle, we heard from Melissa Nold, human rights attorney out of Vallejo CA. There is a lot happening out there trying to clean up a racist violent police department. Last week on Full Circle, we took a stand with two local families whose son’s lives were taken by police. We heard from a ceremony honoring Pedie Perez who was killed by Richmond police in 2014. The city and family just honored Pedie with the placing of two art cans at the site where Pedie was killed. Outside Uncle Sam’s Liquors on Cutting Boulevard in Richmond. Last week on Full Circle we continued to keep our eyes and ears on Palestine. We heard from Rami of the Palestinian Youth Movement Bay Area. He was part of the protest at the Google I/O conference in Mountain View. They were there speaking out about Google’s contributions facilitating genocide in Palestine.
