Carson City
The Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City is hosting train rides for families with Santa during the first three weekends in December. The Santa Train has eleven rides a day on Saturdays and Sundays from December 2 through December 17. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., running every 30 minutes.

Dan Thielen has been named the new administrator for the Division of Museums and History, a promotion from his post as director of the Nevada State Railroad Museums.
For 15 years, Dan has worked for the State of Nevada’s Division of Museums and History, most recently managing the three railroad museums in Nevada located in Carson City, East Ely, and Boulder City. He oversaw 15 employees and 150 volunteers. The Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City will hold a community meeting to inform Henderson residents about a proposed Joint Use Agreement between the State of Nevada and City of Henderson to utilize approximately one mile of railroad track between Interstate 11 and Paradise Hills Drive.

Nevada State Museums to Receive $38 Million Dollars
After the passage of the Capital Improvement Bill, AB 1, The Nevada State Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs was allocated budget for projects throughout the state’s network of museums and archival storage facilities.
