A Spring Week of the First Gardening and Celebrating
The Honey Print

The past week has been a lovely celebration of Easter, my birthday on the 4th, and spring. There’s been flowers, treats, and so much beauty. I’m sharing these with you in hopes of inspiring your own spring enjoyment in the little things. Easter Goodies On Good Friday, I went to Trader Joe’s looking for flowers. I found these lovely purple tulips and delicate daisies, and they made the perfect whimsical bouquet for the weekend. That afternoon, I received a delivery from Homemade by Holly of her gluten-friendly sourdough boule! I sliced it up, and it was so light and delicious. The First Gard ..read more

Master Bedroom & Bath Details This Spring
The Honey Print

Ever since we did some updates to our master this winter, I have been enjoying playing with the little details of this space. I love decorating and organizing, and I’m at a place with our bedroom and bathroom (and of course, the closet!) in which I feel very content. I know I will continue to add pieces here and there, but for now, the space feels right. I love our bedding. Since our wedding, we have used mostly Serena & Lily, including this coverlet with matching Euro shams, king shams, and duvet cover, as well as these Boll & Branch sheets, thanks to generous gifts from family. 10 Ways to Be Well This Spring
The Honey Print

I am writing this on a Wednesday at 5:40 pm. I am sitting outside on our screen porch, and the sun is shining through, the birds singing merrily. It is exactly 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky. This is my perfect day. After the dreariness of winter – a season that I do appreciate for its slowness, coziness, and occasional southern snow – spring feels miraculous. I love all seasons, but spring, to me, is the loveliest. As the daffodils rise from the ground and cherry blossoms bloom, the first light green appears on the trees, and the days grow longer, the world feels hopeful and ethereal ..read more

Spring Break 2024: Home in Nashville & Trip to Greenville
The Honey Print

This past week was my spring break – always a much-anticipated time as we bid winter adieu and welcome the warmer, longer days. Last year, H and I traveled to Anguilla for our honeymoon! This year’s break was more low-key, but still wonderful. I stayed home in Nashville for most of it and enjoyed a little mid-week mother-daughter road trip to Greenville to visit family as well. Easter Decorations + My New Camera
The Honey Print

It’s my spring break! On Friday, I enjoyed the first day with a park walk, a little shopping, and a matcha latte. I also realized that Easter is early this year, at the end of the month, and in the late cloudy afternoon decided to get out my Easter decorations. I recently sold my last camera in favor of something more compact – this tiny and incredible point-and-shoot, recommended by a photographer friend. I wanted something that would be easy to bring with me anywhere and take beautiful, effortless photos, and this camera accomplishes that goal. I started playing with it yesterday, and all o ..read more

The First Blooms of Spring
The Honey Print

A few weeks ago, I was stunned to see that a little bunch of daffodils had suddenly bloomed in our front yard. It seemed that one moment they weren’t there, and the next they were. It felt so early for daffodils, but with the warmer weather we’d been having, I supposed it made sense. Should they have bloomed so early? Probably not, but I couldn’t help feeling absolutely delighted at their presence. It was the first sign – aside from the warmer days – that spring was on its way. I felt inspired to write a poem: I love and appreciate all seasons, and each time a new one arrives I feel that ..read more

Welcoming Spring in Our New Home
The Honey Print

In Nashville, February brings the first beautiful warmer sunshine-filled afternoons, longer days, and daffodils beginning to bloom, all hinting at spring’s coming. By the middle of the month, I have the winter decor stored away and have gotten out all my green for spring. It has been a joy welcoming spring for the first time into our new home. I love seeing how everything comes together here. Our eucalyptus wreath makes the perfect entrance. I love swapping out plants, candles, and seasonal reads on this bookshelf. Now, there are books here that remind me of warmer weather, like Tom Lake, o ..read more

Easy Soft Valentine’s Sugar Heart Cookies

I made a batch of delicious, soft sugar cookies using the same King Arthur cookie mix that I use for Christmas cookies (I have a gluten intolerance, but they are delicious for gluten eaters, too!). However, I did not want to spend quite as much time on them as I do for holiday baking, so I tried a shorter method for decorating and am pleased to say that it worked. Here is how I made these heart-shaped treats. Preheat oven to 350. Combine cookie mix with other ingredients as listed on the box instructions to make the dough. Scoop out heaping tablespoons of dough on baking sheets lined with p ..read more

Comfortable & Simple Monochrome Travel Style
The Honey Print

I tend to be a homebody, but I have an adventuresome side as well and love to travel. My style has always been comfy, classic, and casual, and being comfortable while traveling feels extra important to me. Travel can be unpleasant and tiresome; you might as well feel good in what you’re wearing. I recently discovered this set from Outdoor Voices, one of my favorite stores, and it’s a travel dream for cool days in the fall, winter, or spring (and equally as perfect for lounging around the house). Both the pullover and pants are butter-soft and effortless to wear, and sure to keep you warm and ..read more
